Today I’ll be writing a review for the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds. It’s no secret that I’m a massive SoundPEATS fan, having previously reviewed 9 products from them. Today’s offering is another model from their wireless earbud range. SoundPEATS produce high quality audio gear, at affordable prices.
The SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds have numerous features, all packed into an affordable price bracket of around £80.00. My review (well, hopefully) covers all of these features, there are quite a few features with the Air4 Pro earbuds.
SoundPEATS Air4 Pro uses Snapdragon Sound technology and codec audio aptX adaptive lossless to elevate your audio experience to a new level, allowing you to enjoy 16-bit 44.1kHz CD-level lossless sound quality and immerse yourself in unparalleled beautiful notes.
You get advanced noise-cancellation technology, adaptability, hybrid noise reduction, and a high-performance processor to deliver exceptional noise-cancellation capabilities. SoundPEATS Air4 Pro boasts AptX Voice technology, delivering exceptional high-definition sound quality. With support for a 32kHz sampling rate and a flat 16kHz frequency response, it captures nuanced sound distinctions for authentic and lifelike call audio.
But what are they like? Time to test them out!
Packaging and Contents.
The SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds come packaged in a cardboard box, which shows product images and specifications printed on it. The box measures 11.0cm x 11.0cm x 3.4cm and weighs 152G.
Inside the box you’ll find the following: 1x Earbuds (in case), 1x Charging Case, 2x Additional Ear-Tips, 1x USB-C/USB-A Charging Cable (which measures 25.0cm in length) and 1x Multi-Lingual User Guide.
As mentioned, the supplied charging cable is a little on the short side, but you’re free to utilise any USB-C charging cable, so long as you supply a 5V DC power source, your earbud charging case will charge.
Charging takes around 2 hours to fully charge the charging case. The earbuds take around 1.5 hours to charge. A handy charging indicator light is visible on the charging case.
Simply press the button to the right of the USB-C charging port, a solid green light indicates a 100%-50% battery level, a yellow light means 49%-10% remaining, and red indicates a battery level of under 10%.
Whilst in charge mode the same light indicates the following: <10%, a slow flashing red light is present, 11%-49% a yellow light, 50-99% this light shows a slow flashing green, a solid green light indicates a full 100% charge.
Once charged you’ll be pleased to hear the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds last 6 hours on normal audio mode, or 4 hours with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and the battery case has a 26 hour charging time, Meaning you can charge your earbuds 4 times (on normal mode) with a single charge to the battery case.
SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds.
Each SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbud measures 34.9mm x 25.1mm and weighs just 4.7G. The battery case measures 63.8mm x 49.7mm x 24.0mm and weighs 43G (includes both earbuds). The battery case has a pearlescent finish to it, certainly different to the standard block white colour I’m used to seeing with earbuds.
SoundPEATS have other colour options available too, including black and a cool looking transparent black finish.
Both earbuds perfectly align with the charging contact pins inside the battery case. You can clean the SoundPEATS battery case with a slightly damp cloth.
SoundPEATS supply two additional sized silicone ear-tips for your comfort. To change a tip, simply pop off the tip and push on another.
Using the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds.
Connection via Bluetooth V5.3 is easy. Simply open the case, remove the earbuds, and perform a Bluetooth search and connect. That’s it! They’ll connect each and every time automatically. The advertised Bluetooth range is 10M.
As per usual with SoundPEATS products, I got a 20M distance in an open environment, plus an uninterrupted signal inside my two-storey home, signal worked through walls and floors without any loss.
You can also utilise the SoundPEATS app, this app is available free of charge to both Android and iOS users. I wrote more about the SoundPEATS app in a previous review. The app has had a few updates since then, making it easier to use, but primarily it’s the same as before. It’s great to see SoundPEATS make these relevant changes to make their app more user friendly. See my app thoughts previously here.
The SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds feature a special in-ear detection sensor on each earbud. If you remove an earbud whilst audio is playing, your audio automatically pauses, then plays again when you insert the earbud again. There’s no need to manually pause/play audio when needing to remove your earbuds to communicate with your fellow human beings!
Multi-Function Control.
You also get multifunctional touch controls too. There’s a touch-sensitive control area on the largest facing part. You’re able to control volume, track selection and more. I’ll do the full functions below:
- Play/Pause: Double tap either earbud.
- Volume Down: Single tap the left earbud.
- Volume Up: Single tap the right earbud.
- Skip Track: Long press the right earbud.
- ANC/Noise Reduction/Normal Mode: Long press the left earbud.
- Answer/End Call: Double tap either earbud.
- Reject Phone Call: Long press either earbud for 1.5s.
- Switch Between Two Active Calls: Long press either earbud for 2s.
- Activate Voice Assistant: Triple tap the right earbud.
- Enter Game Mode: Triple tap the left earbud.
You’ll notice there’s no option to go back a track with the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds, this takes some getting used to, especially if you’ve been using SoundPEATS products for a while (like myself) as you’ll be switching between normal, ANC and pass-through modes with the long press of the left earbud.
Game Mode allows you to seamlessly watch video and lips will be in sync with the words, with low 88ms latency. Ideal for both watching video and playing online games. You can also activate Game Mode via the app too, simply slide the toggle bar for Game Mode.
But, I discovered if you’re using both Game Mode and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) at the same time there’s a notable delay in transmission and sound. The low latency works great on standard, normal mode.
Sound Quality.
The SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds sound absolutely amazing. Yet another brilliant sounding pair of earbuds from SoundPEATS, they are making a habit of producing awesome audio products. Bass and vocals are clear, crisp with absolutely no distortion at all, amazing.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature works incredibly well too, certainly a notable difference to background noise reduction, but still aren’t the best ANC earbuds that I’ve reviewed, but still impressive in their own right. The transparency mode is a bit hit and miss to be honest, although it works, the background amplification feels too heightened, almost artificial even.
Comfort wise the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds are both comfortable and light feeling to wear, even when used for prolonged periods of time, no ear fatigue at all. They sit nicely in your ears without any stretching or heat too, nothing worse than unpleasant, sweaty ears when enjoying your audio, but no such occurrence with the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro.
The SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds also have three, in-built microphones in each earbud, for enhanced call features. Calls are clear and vocals are easily heard without effort.

Conclusion.
I love the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro Earbuds. Another fantastic SoundPEATS product. Honestly, I can’t find much wrong ever with any SoundPEATS products, the only improvements for the Air4 Pro earbuds is the latency issues which is dependent on the mode you’re using, aside from that I can’t find any issues at all. They sound fantastic, are comfortable, come with firmware updates (within the SoundPEATS app), have ANC, and a brilliant Bluetooth wireless connection too.
