TOZO Tonal Fits T21

Today I’ll be writing a review for these TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds. I’ve previously reviewed the TOZO Golden X1 Earbuds last July, which are simply superb. So, hoping for something similar with these Tonal Fits, although also bearing in mind the huge price difference between the Tonal Fits and the Golden X1 earbuds. Look out soon for another TOZO product on the My Helpful Hints website!

Anyway, back to the Tonal Fits, these are in the budget end of TOZO’s audio range, but offering the same customisable TOZO app as more premium models, which I’ve been using almost daily since last July, it’s a fantastic app, very user friendly and you’re able to customise any TOZO product to suit your own audio requirements.

The Tonal Fits feature a 14.2mm dynamic driver, providing you with a more surround effect and a stronger sense of immersion when listening to music or playing games. That’s not all, they also adopt Dual-mic Call Noise Cancelling technology, which effectively eliminates background noise and ensures clearer calls.
But are they any good? Time to test them out!

Packaging and Contents.

The TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds come packaged in a cardboard box, which shows product images and specifications printed on it. The box measures 8.4cm x 8.4cm x 3.8cm and weighs 100G.

TOZO Tonal Fits T21.

The TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds come in a variety of colours. TOZO sent me this awesome red pair, although the images from today’s review isn’t a true reflection of the colour (I tried my best), but you can get a pair of Tonal Fits in black, blue, and green.

The charging case measures just 58.4mm x 43.6mm x 27.1mm and weighs 46G (with both earbuds inside). The charging case is very plain looking, no fancy buttons, you get a single USB-C port and an LED display to the front of the battery percentage. Although wireless charging is also available too.

Each earbud measures 32.5mm x 18.8mm x 18.1mm and weighs a mere 3.9G.

Pairing via Bluetooth is a very simple task. Simply remove the earbuds from the charging case, perform a Bluetooth search on your device and connect to Tonal Fits. That’s it, then afterwards they’ll automatically connect to your device when removed from the charging case.

Battery.

The TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds feature a 10 hour audio playtime on a single charge and an impressive 44 hours of audio charge time on a full charging case charge. You can either use the USB-C port (which is incredibly the faster option) or utilise the wireless charging facility.

It takes around 2 hours to fully charge the charging case via the USB-C port, the earbud stake 1.5 hours to fully charge too. You’re able to charge both simultaneously.

The charging case features the remaining battery level in a handy LED light.

Multi-Function Control.

The TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds with multi-function control on each earbud. The touch-sensitive multi-function control area is very accurate, with very minimal accidental errors. You’ll find the touch area located towards the very upper part of each earbud, above the black indicator light area (see below arrow).

  • Volume Down: Press and hold the left earbud.
  • Skip Track: Double tap the right earbud.
  • Previous Track: Double tap the left earbud.
  • Play/Pause: Single tap either earbud.
  • Answer a Call: Single tap either earbud.
  • Hang Up a Call: Single tap either earbud.
  • Reject an Incoming Call: Press and hold either earbud.
  • Activate Voice Assistant: Tripe tap either earbud.

Sound Quality and App.

Right, here comes the bad and good news all in one section. Upon removing the TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds from the case and using them in standard audio mode, the sound is terrible. Bass is so overpowering that vocals are completely drowned out. Sound is muffled and not enjoyable at all. But, and this is where TOZO excels, you can change this via the awesome TOZO app.

The TOZO is free to download and available to both iOS and Android users, you’re able to choose from 16 different equaliser functions, you’re also able to customise your own sound effects. Within the TOZO app you’ll also see the battery percentage of both earbuds, and that’s not all, you’re also able to download the latest firmware update from TOZO, with continuous product development from TOZO too. You can also customise the touch control functions too.

So, it’s thanks to the TOZO app that I managed to find the ideal sound effect for my own needs.

You don’t get Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), but thanks to the design of the Tonal Fits, background noise is minimal. Usually I hate plastic shelled earbuds, I always prefer a silicon ear tip, for my own comfort if nothing else. But with the Tonal Fits, I actually found them comfortable to wear, the first pair shaped like this I’ve found comfortable.

Features.

You get Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC), this allows for clear phone calls with unwanted and distracting background noises greatly reduced. I believe the TOZO Tonal Fits T21 earbuds reduce background call noises by around 90% compared to non-ENC audio products.

Speaking of the environment, that reminds me, TOZO have been busy gaining some sustainability features to the Tonal Fits T21 earbuds too. Each pair of Tonal Fits contains at least 50% recycled materials, are manufactured on farms or in facilities that protect the rights and/or health of workers, and made with chemicals safer for human health and the environment. All certified by Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

Latency is average, there is a slight delay between audio and video, certainly notable for viewing video, especially lip syncing for example. But for game mode, where lip syncing isn’t really an issue the Tonal Fits are OK to be honest.

Finally, the Bluetooth signal. You get Bluetooth V5.3 with the Tonal Fits, with an advertised range of 10M, and literally that’s the limit, you can extend beyond 10M without signal loss, so they’re correctly advertised, but within a 8M range from my phone I was able to break the signal by simply cupping my ears, despite being in an open environment, so the Tonal Fits aren’t the best for Bluetooth signal quality.

Conclusion.

The TOZO Tonal Fits T21 aren’t bad at all, they’re certainly more on the budget end of TOZO’s awesome audio library. But budget doesn’t mean trash, the Tonal Fits are proof of that, you get decent audio (when customised in the TOZO app), comfort and a generous battery life too.

I actually found the Tonal Fits comfortable, which for semi-in-ear plastic shelled earbuds is not like me at all, so credit to TOZO for this.

I would recommend the Tonal Fits T21 earbuds, especially for the budget conscious audio purchaser.
