Today I’m writing a review for Casemill, a small business specialising in mobile phone cases and wearable technology accessories.

I needed a new phone case for my iPhone 7. My Syncwire one had started to peel away after nearly 2 years. I wanted to support a small business and so purchased a case from Casemill.

Casemill started business in 2016 and is run by Carolyn and Gary. Both of whom are graduates from Gray’s School of Art. They used their artistic talents to start a business creating unique, handprinted cases from Aberdeen. Casemill sell on exclusively on Etsy.

Each case is printed with care, each design is on trend with modern tastes. Since being on Etsy they’ve had over 22K sales (correct as of Sep 2020), which is an astonishing amount. Casemill not only produce phone cases, they also supply faux leather smartwatch straps, folio wallet cases, and phone grips too.

Casemill have shipped their products globally from Aberdeen reaching as far as Alaska!

But is this case any good? What is the quality like? Time to test it out!

Packaging.

The Casemill mobile phone case comes packaged in plastic packaging. This protects your new case whilst in the postal system. Whilst I’m mentioning about postage, my order was delivered the very next working day after ordering. This is exceptional service. This wasn’t because they knew a product reviewer had ordered their product either. In fact, I ordered without Casemill being aware. Only after my order was processed did Casemill find out that they would be getting reviewed on this website. So, everyone gets this fast service!

From a personal opinion maybe Casemill could look to replace their plastic packaging with an eco-friendly option such as paper or other plastic replacement options.

Casemill.

The case I selected is a wooden printed design on a soft silicone bump case. You get a choice of either a black or clear case.

Casemill also have over a thousand different listings, so you’ll be able to choose a design for your device. They also have cases for most modern smartphones too. If you’re unsure what case fits your device, or what options are available to you I suggest you contact them. They’re quick to respond to messages and will always help.

My design has a nice glossy finish to it. It’s also printed to an exceedingly high standard too, there’s no misprint, colour deformations or any other noticeable defects. The black silicone case for has a glossy finish to the front and has a matte finish to the rear. This helps in my opinion with handheld grip.

Whilst I’m mentioning about grip. The Casemill case has a raised silicone knurling effect to both sides of the case which produces high level of grip whilst still being comfortable.

Ports, Buttons and Bezel.

The Casemill mobile phone case has been designed to still enable you to use your iPhone buttons and ports. I was still able to control volume, lock, and use the mute switch with ease.

Some cases inhibit your lightning port and render it useless with aftermarket lightning cables. With the Casemill case I was still able to use my cheap Apple alternative charging options.

You’ll see the bezel area is slightly raised to provide screen protection whilst still looking stylish. I’d say it’s raised between 1-2mm, enough to provide protection without hindering screen access.

On the reverse the case covers your camera area and ensures that you can’t scrape this area. Again, it’s raised enough to provide protection and without feeling too bulky.

Conclusion.

I love my Casemill mobile phone case. The Casemill case is well constructed, beatifically printed and exceptionally comfortable for everyday use. I’ve fallen back in love with my iPhone 7 as it now looks like an entirely new device. My phone has had a facelift.

There’re no negative viewpoints in terms of service, or product quality. The only negative point (and this is barrel scrapping) is the plastic packaging, as I believe a better alternative must be available. But this is a personal viewpoint as I detest unnecessary plastic use.

I’m more than happy to personally recommend the phone case to you all. Also, there is a common misconception of price regrading using small business over a major retailer. The Casemill case cost slightly more over the Syncwire version that I had been using. In my opinion it’s still fantastic value for money, also you’re supporting a small business whilst also having a cool looking unique phone case.

If you want Casemill mobile phone case for yourself, it’s available for purchase only on Etsy. The RRP for this product is £10.99.

Check out the Casemill Etsy store for more designs.
