TINHIFI T5S IEM’s

Today I’ll be writing a review for the TINHIFI T5S IEM’s. I’ve had these with me now for a while, been using them quite a bit in preparation for today’s review. I have been lucky to have reviewed for TINHIFI previously, so I was excited when these T5S IEM’s arrived in the post.

These T5S feature TINHIFI latest generation diaphragm, this diaphragm consists of three nano-materials, with the aim of balance between rigidity and flexibility for higher fidelity sound production. That’s not all, the T5S features a Japanese CCAW lightweight voice coil which minimises distortion. You also get a magnetic circuit design, for a clear, more accurate sound experience.

Aesthetic wise, the T5S feature a cool brushed finish, a colour changing logo, and a shell shape that has been designed for comfort for prolonged periods of use.

But are the T5S EM’s any good? Time to test them out!

Packaging and Contents.

The TINHIFI T5S IEM’s come packaged in a cardboard box, which shows logo images and specifications printed on it. The box measures 13.5cm x 14.0cm x 7.3cm and weighs 367G. I got to say it, the outer design of a futuristic Mars scene looks really cool, first impressions are everything, and TINHIFI certainly haven’t disappointed here.

When you remove the Mars sleeve you’ll see the TINHIFI T5S IEM’s in a foam holder.

The supplied cable is a standard 2-pin cable, featuring 28 strands of 0.06mm enameled copper and 54 strands of 0.05mm silver-plated copper, achieving a higher level of audio quality. The cable measures 1.2M in length.

TINHIFI T5S IEM’s.

The TINHIFI T5S IEM’s measure (on their own) 23.5mm x 17.5mm x 23.4mm and weigh 7.7G. You can change the ear tips to one that suits you. I found the supplied memory foam tip to fit me perfectly. In order to use them you need to sit them on your ear hole, gently pull down your lobe and then insert them, you’ll feel the foam expand to fill your ear canals.

Although they provide a great, noise blocking fit, there’s one disgusting drawback, earwax! No matter how clean your ears are, the foam ear tip will still find earwax and coat the ear tip. Gross! but anyway, it is what it is.

I touched on the cable above for the TINHIFI T5S IEM’s, but there’s more information. Not only do you get 28 strands of 0.06mm enameled copper and 54 strands of 0.05mm silver-plated copper, but TINHIFI also supplies as standard a gold-plated 3.5mm TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) plug.

You’ll see you get quite a big collar on the plug, I found this produced a 35mm protrusion when inserted into a jack plug, enough for something to tangle around and potentially unplug the jack from your socket.

Sound Quality.

Finally, I will tell you how the TINHIFI T5S IEM’s sound. Well, I won’t keep you waiting any longer, they sound FANTASTIC! Honestly, the sound is crisp, clear and with no distortion at all, I really enjoy the audio produced, nicely balanced and an absolute joy to use, even for prolonged use (we’re talking hours per day too).

Comfort wise I had no issues with fatigue either, the T5S IEM’s are perfectly shaped to be as comfortable as possible, I initially presumed with a weight of 7.7G they’d be too heavy for prolonged use, but this isn’t the case.

Even when wearing glasses, yes I wear them to write reviews (getting old now) there’s no interference with the cable loop around your ear, you can wear both your IEM’s and glasses in total harmony.

I can’t hype these up enough, certainly one of my favourite pieces of audio gear I’ve tried out over the last 7 years.

Conclusion.

I really love the TINHIFI T5S IEM’s. They’re not only a great sounding pair of IEM’s, but also comfortable too. It’s usually so difficult to find both audio quality and comfort, you normally have to compromise on either option, but not with the T5s IEM’s.

I can’t rate them enough, they’re simply incredible and an absolute joy to listen to.
