KuDiff Anti-decubitus Air Mattress

Can a medical anti-bedsore mattress for under £100 provide long-term comfort and relief? Is the air pump quiet? All will be revealed in todays review for the KuDiff Anti-decubitus Air Mattress.

A first for my website, an automatic inflating mattress. This product has been designed for those that are bedridden. When you’re bedridden you’re prone to bed sores, but this mattress has that covered with comfort, and air circulation to prevent the growth of bacteria.

For ultimate comfort and pressure relief, this mattress utilises 135 air cells. These cells inflate and deflate one by one, continuously shifting a patient’s weight and reducing pressure points. Additionally, the air circulation promotes better blood flow, further contributing to a more comfortable experience.

Enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep with the whisper-quiet (under 50 decibels) waffle mattress. It conforms to your body for ultimate comfort, providing deep, restful sleep throughout the night. Additionally, the pump’s adjustable pressure settings allow you to personalise your comfort level.

This mattress (193 x 88 x 6 cm) offers exceptional support for patients up to 135kg thanks to its high-quality, recyclable 40mm-thick PVC construction. The waterproof material ensures a clean and hygienic environment, making it easy to maintain and sanitise.

The PVC air hoses measure 130.0cm in length, each has an outer diameter of 8.0mm and an inner tube size of 5.8mm. So, if you require any additional or longer PVC hoses, you can easily purchase these.

The pump features a BS 1363 3 pin UK plug, fitted with a BS 1362 3A fuse. You get a 160.0cm length cable.

KuDiff Anti-decubitus Air Mattress.

The KuDiff Anti-decubitus Air Mattress itself measures 193.0cm x 88.0cm x 6.0cm and is made with PVC materials. You’re free to clean and sanitise without fear of damaging the mattress. This mattress is designed for patients with a weight of 130KG/20.4St/286lb or less.

It’s easy to set up the mattress:

  • Unroll the mattress onto your existing mattress.
  • Line up the fixing straps to your bed to prevent movement.
  • Next up, hang the pump at the foot of the bed, or place in a suitable location if hanging isn’t an option.
  • Now connect the air feed pump pipes to the mattress and to the pump itself.
  • Plug in the pump.
  • Press the green power switch to start the inflation process.
  • Use the manual dial to select your desired pressure setting.

That’s it, the pump will automatically cut in and out, every 12 minutes, providing an air output of 5-7L/Min, with a pressure range from 50~110 mmHG.

Air Pump.

The automatic pump measures 22.5cm x 12.0cm x 9.0cm and weighs 786G. On the reverse side you’ll see the two adjustable hooks for hanging onto the foot of the bed, you can hang on any footboard which measures 6.0cm or less in thickness. You can also choose to rest the pump on a hard surface close by. Rubberised footpads ensure minimum movement with vibration.

The pump runs at around 50dB, which isn’t too loud, but it’s not silent either. 50dB is the same as a normal conversation, or the sound of a dishwasher running.

To prevent pressure sores, the anti-decubitus air mattress features 130 individual air chambers. The pump inflates these chambers to customise the firmness and distribute pressure evenly across the body, supporting those who must stay in bed for extended periods. To adjust, you simply turn the pressure level dial from 1 to 5 (min to max).

Conclusion.

The KuDiff Anti-decubitus Air Mattress is a quality item, the mattress itself is made from heat sealed methods, and is made for longevity and comfort. I personally do not have a need for an anti-decubitus mattress, but I tested the pump to ensure it does what has been advertised by KuDiff, these types of mattresses are expensive, so to purchase one for just under £100 is a great bargain.
