KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones

The KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones are a lightweight, portable and a comfortable pair of earphones that can be used for just about any Bluetooth enabled device.

You get noise cancellation, 4.1 Bluetooth connection technology, and a large battery life so you’ll be able to enjoy your audio whilst you jog, walk, or just sit there like a couch potato!

Another feature is the magnetic function between the two earbuds, simply clip them together magnetically to keep them neat, tidy, and a great way to carry them around your neck as you move about.

But are they good? What do they sound like? Time to test them out!

Packaging.

The KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones comes packaged in a White cardboard box with a clear plastic cover on the front with product images.  The packaging measures 14.5cm x 10.0cm x 2.5cm and weighs 86G.

Upon opening the box you’ll find the following items. 1x Earphones, 1x Micro USB Charger Cable, 1x Wire Clip, 2x Silicone Ear Hooks, 2x Additional Pairs of Silicone Ear tips, 1x English/Chinese User Guide.

KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones.

These earphones are Black in colour with Silver detailing.  They measure (from ear tip to the other ear tip) 66.0cm and weigh only 15G.  You get a choice whether you not to use the supplied ear hook inserts, I personally chose not to as I found them comfortable without them, but if your exercising and find them slipping, then use them to keep them in position.

You get a flat cable with these earphones which not only look good but also is designed to help your earphones from staying tangle free.

You’ll notice the prominent in-line control which is more toward the right earbud, this in-line control allows to power on/off/multi-function control, control track selection/volume, and features a built-in microphone too!

Pairing the KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones.

First things first, give your X3 Earphones a charge using the supplied Micro USB (Which has a length of 28.0cm), charging should take around 2 hours for which you’ll get 6 hours playtime or 175 standby time.

To charge you’ll need to plug the USB end into any 5V outlet, laptops, phone adapters are all fine and should do the job.

Now, it’s time to pair your X3 to your device, you can use these on just about any device, if you’ve got Bluetooth, then these X3 Earphones will work for you.  To pair, power on your earphones by pressing and holding the round button on the in-line control, you’ll hear an automated audio voice of “Pairing”.  Now go to your Bluetooth menu on your device and search and connect to the option “X3”, now your earphones will automate another audio of “Connected”.  That’s it! and every time you power on these again they will automatically pair again with the last known device.

Sound Quality.

The sound quality of the X3 Earphones is a strange one, I can’t decide whether I love them or absolutely detest them.  One thing I did notice is the difference in bass/treble tone between each earbud.  The left earbud had more deep bass tones, whilst the right had literally no bass tones but high treble tones.  I’m not sure if this normal, or in fact a defect.  But, for some classic hip hop songs it sounded quite good but on more pop songs it sounded tinny and had a muffled sound.

Maybe, they’re to be used only for avid hip hop fans!

The in-line control does a good job in controlling track selection and I was able to control volume without using my device, so on that not, the controls are great!

Handsfree Calling.

The handsfree calling function also worked very well, the microphone is very good and surprisingly the audio from the caller was balanced between each earbud with no sound difference between the two.  Which is now really confusing me, how can the sound be so different for music but the same for call receiving?

It’s definitely the earphones at fault and not my ears, I even swapped them around as I was getting worried!

I can only presume there’s an issue with the driver on the right earbud.

Noise cancellation is OK, it’s not the best in the world, but I would say it’s more than adequate in blocking out most of any background noise.

The noise isolation is probably a better feature of the X3 Earphones, you’ll be the only listener to those hip-hop tunes and no sneaky music freeloaders will be able to hear the Snoop D.O Double G!

Conclusion.

I have a love/hate relationship with the KOVEBBLE X3 Bluetooth Earphones.  I love the comfortable fit, handsfree calling, and even the magnetic design of the earbuds.  But, the sound when audio is playing is annoying.  The wireless connection is also quite poor when you go further than 5M, even though 10M is the advertised distance between earphone and device.

If the sound was better, then these would be a perfect everyday set of earphones.
