The iMXPW NONCERA USB Adapter is an 8-in-1 USB-C adapter that can be used for your Apple MacBook Pro.

With two HDMI output ports, USB-C PD port, 2 USB Type C data transfer ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, audio jack, you’ll have all the connections you’d possibly need, all in a slimline design adapter.

Watch movies and stream videos in high-resolution from your MacBook Pro to an external monitor. The HDMI ports support up to 4K at 30Hz and 1080P at 60Hz resolution. Also, it’s worth noting the two HDMI ports can work at the same time.

But is this adapter any good? What is the quality like? Time to test it out!

Upon opening the box, you will find the following items. 1x Multiport Adapter, 1x PU Leather Case, 1x Multi-Lingual User Guide, 1x Company Contact Card.

iMXPW NONCERA USB Adapter.

The iMXPW NONCERA USB Adapter is Grey in colour and is made from high quality metal materials. The adapter measures 13.5cm in length x 3.5cm in width (not including the two USB-C ports) x 1.0cm in thickness, it also weighs 55G.

On one side you see the two USB-C input ports, these directly plug into any Apple MacBook Pro 2016/2017/2018 13&15 inch and is also compatible with the New MacBook Air 2018.

On one end you’ll see one of the two available HDMI Ports.

Along the main edge of the adapter you get multiple ports, these are; 1x USB-C Pass through charging port, 1x HDMI port, 2x USB-C data ports, 2x USB 3.0 ports, and an Audio jack (Which don’t support microphone).

On the bottom you also get a non-slip rubberised material that stops the adapter from sliding about and protects your desk.

Using the Adapter.

Using this adapter is simple, you just need to insert the two USB-C ports into your Apple MacBook, and that’s it!

The iMXPW NONCERA USB Adapter will fit your MacBook whether your case is fitted or not. If your case is not fitted there’ll be a slight gap (1.3mm) as the adapter has been designed to fit snuggly against a case. It’ll still work but the cosmetic looks are affected.

For best performance, devices connected to this adapter should not exceed the total current of 2A when no power source is connected to the adapter. Otherwise, the output current may become unstable or disconnected. It’s worth noting that you should connect a power adapter to the adapter when using high-power devices.

Also, to achieve the advertised 4K capabilities of the iMXPW NONCERA you’ll need to ensure you’re using a decent HDMI cable capable of achieving such resolution.

The standard USB-C port only supports data transfer and does not support USB-C video output or USB-C charging.

You also get a Brown PU Leather looking wallet, which protects your adapter perfectly.

Conclusion.

I quite like the iMXPW NONCERA USB Adapter. It’s slim in design and very lightweight. I was also impressed by the overall build quality; the metal casing feels tough and will also help in dissipating any unwanted heat sources too.

The instruction manual is a little hard to follow, the text is quite small and the way it’s been written is confusing. I’d rather have a separate sheet for each language over putting each language after each other in every sentence.

Despite a poor manual the actual product itself is of very high quality and can do an awful lot of adapting for the Apple MacBook user.

Would I recommend it? Yes, I would!
