The Betron A3 Bluetooth Speaker is another small and compact desk speaker from Betron who are becoming one of my favourite audio brands.
This speaker has a cool feature, it can also light up with subtle LED lighting which cycles through a range of colours, providing a complete sensory experience.
As per the usual with Bluetooth speakers you can use it for all Bluetooth enabled devices such as your iPhone Smartphone, Android Smartphone, Tablets, Laptops, and so on (You get the idea, if it has Bluetooth then this speaker will work)
But is the Betron A3 is any good? Will it impress me? Time to test it out!
Packaging.
The Betron A3 comes packaged very neatly in a White and Blue cardboard box. The box measures 8.5cm x 8.0cm x 8.0cm and weighs 270G.
Contents.
Upon opening the Betron A3 box you will find the following items. 1x Speaker, 1x Micro USB Cable, 1x AUX Cable, 1x English Written User Guide, and 1x Betron VIP Card.
Betron A3 Bluetooth Speaker.
The Betron A3 Bluetooth Speaker is Black in colour and made from mostly metal with plastic trim. This speaker measures 8.0cm in height and has a diameter of 7.0cm and weighs a mere 215G.
What I like about the design of the Betron A3 is the simplistic and plain matte Black finish, but with a press of a button the speaker lights up and provides a rainbow of colours to entertain and keep you amused.
The main control buttons are located on the front and you’re able to control your device directly using these buttons. You’re able to control Volume, Track Selection, Play/Pause, and Power On/Off.
Want a lit-up LED display? Of course you do! To use this feature, you’ll need to turn on the LED function using the button on the bottom. There’s also two foam pads that provide both stability for your speaker and stop you from scratching your Nan’s Mahogany dinner table.
If you look on the back of the speaker you’ll see a Micro USB port, this is where you’ll need to plug it in and give some juice (The supplied charger cable has a length of 50.0cm), charging takes around 2-3 hours and you’ll be listening to your tunes for around 3-5 hours (Depending on volume and LED usage).
Charge and Play.
Impatient? don’t worry you’ll be please to know you can charge and play music at the same time and your speaker will slowly charge until you’re ready to go wireless.
A little further along you’ll also see an AUX input port, which will allow you to use a device that don’t support a Bluetooth connection, also the Betron A3 has a Micro SD card input too, simply upload some cracking tunes on your memory card and insert the card into your A3 and enjoy! The Betron A3 can support a class 4 TF/Micro SD card of upto 32GB and can support the usual files, including MP3, WMA, WAV and so on.
Using the Speaker.
So, I’m going to talk you through how easy it is to set and use the Betron A3 on a Bluetooth connection. Right, here goes! Turn on your speaker by pressing and holding the power button on the front. Now, pick up your device and head to the Bluetooth menu, perform a quick search and connect to “A3”, and that’s it! You’re connected. Now press that LED button on the bottom and enjoy both music and a brilliant light display.
The sound from the Betron A3 is clear, but the bass tones aren’t very noticeable, and the speaker is great for vocal notes. Just don’t expect this little speaker to move the air with bass tones! But for me the biggest selling point is that LED light feature that I keep mentioning.
The LED lights up in a ring around the speaker with a blended colour display that changes from the back to the front and because of this you end up with two light patterns at any one time on your table.
The Betron A3 also has an in-built handsfree phone call function too. When you receive a call, press the Play/Pause button to answer and talk directly to the speaker and hang up again by pressing the same button.
I didn’t get any distortion when the volume was increased to maximum either which was quite surprising.
Another thing to point out is the lack of information in the user guide on how to switch between AUX, SD card usage, you’ll need to press the power button to enter the Multi-Function menu.
Fancy a cup of coffee? The Betron A3 has a Bluetooth range of 10M so you’ll be able to put the kettle on without missing your club bangers!

Conclusion.
Yet again Betron have done it again, they’ve managed to produce another quality audio speaker for anyone on a budget. Betron are impressing me more with every product I receive from them. How they manage to produce a quality speaker for the cost amazes me. This speaker is OK but if you’re after a more bassy note producing speaker then this is not the speaker for you. The LED lit display far makes up for the lack of some bassy tones.
If you want the Betron A3 Bluetooth Speaker for yourself, it’s available for purchase only on Amazon. The RRP for this product is £13.99.
