Today I’m going to be reviewing the LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband. The elasticated headband that features two in-built speakers.
I’ve seen a few of these on Amazon recently and my pre-conceived opinion is that the sound quality is poor, but they do look comfortable.
The LC-dolida version features Bluetooth V5.0, 8-hour music playtime, and a 12-month warranty.
But is this headband any good? What is the sound like? Time to test it out!
Packaging and Contents.
The LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband come packaged in a White cardboard box which seems to feature a royalty-free stock image of a bearded hipster wearing a headband. It’s not even the product itself. Anyway, the box measures 20.0cm x 10.0cm x 2.0cm and weighs 90G.
Inside the box you’ll find the following; 1x Headband, 1x Micro USB Cable, 1x English User Guide.
LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband.
The LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband is Black in colour and is made from 95% Polyester and 5% Cotton. The band is stretchy and will fit a head circumference of around 60.0cm – 75.0cm.
On the front section you’ll see some user control buttons. These allow you Pause/Play, Adjust Volume and Choose Tracks. One thing to note is the backward and confusing way to control both track selection and the volume. The Plus symbol skips a track as you’d expect, but if you press and hold it, it will decrease the volume! The Minus symbol goes back a track, but if you press and hold it, it’ll increase the volume. Strange and confusing to have these symbols but to have them work in opposite directions. The middle Pause/Play button works as it should. Phew!
To charge the headband you’ll need to feel around the headband until you feel the Female Micro USB plug. This plug can be pulled out to allow you to recharge it using the supplied Micro USB Cable (Which measures 1M). To charge you need to hook up the Micro USB cable to any 5V DC power source. Charging takes around 2 hours for a playtime of around 8 hours.
Setting up the LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband.
The LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband uses Bluetooth technology in order to provide a wireless connection. There’s no option to have a wired option, to set up, firstly you need to fully charge your headband using the above suggestion. Afterwards, power the headband on by pressing and holding the middle button, you’ll hear an automated voice to confirm power. Now, perform a Bluetooth search on your device and find and confirm the option ‘BT-FAAH’. Once paired that’s all you need to do!
Now pop on the headband onto your head.
Sound Quality.
Remember my pre-conceived thoughts regarding the sound quality? Well I was right; the sound is dreadful and very tinny. I’d even go as far as to say they’re worse than a pair 1990’s foam Walkman headphones.
Dreadful audio, anyone who tells you otherwise is not your friend and knows nothing about audio. On the flipside the headband is very comfortable to wear, although your ears do start to get warm soon afterwards. Which for me I find uncomfortable and irritating. Each speaker has a diameter of around 2.0cm and don’t quite line up with my ears on both sides. To get any sound you need to increase the volume to almost full, but the sound leakage is terrible and everyone around you hears your music.
Noise isolation is also non-existent, you can hear every piece of background noise.
So, to summarise the sound quality, it’s terrible!
The headband also has a microphone so you can take phone calls. This microphone is just as terrible as the speakers. So, don’t bother using this feature.

Conclusion.
I cannot recommend the LC-dolida Bluetooth Headband. The sound quality is dreadful. The headband is comfortable but increases your ear temperature. I’m really struggling to think any real positives to say about this headband. There are more negative points than positive, which sums up the product really. I wouldn’t recommend this unless you hate music and want to ruin the hard work of music artists.
