TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs

Can budget-friendly IEMs deliver audiophile-grade sound? Does the TRI Draco break new ground in audio technology? Is this the most spacious-sounding IEM you’ll ever hear?

The TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs offer a wide and open soundstage, thanks to their unique acoustic design and driver tuning.

The combination of a dynamic driver and two balanced armatures delivers a balanced sound with clear lows and airy highs, making the listening experience exceptionally enjoyable.

The open-back design of the TRI Draco IEMs creates a spacious and airy soundstage. To compensate for the potential loss of low-frequency response in an open-back design, TRI has carefully engineered a front cavity and incorporated powerful dynamic drivers.

This combination ensures a balanced and natural listening experience, with clear and detailed sound across all frequencies.

The TRI Draco features a high-quality four-strand OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) silver-plated copper cable. This ensures a stable and consistent audio signal, with the copper providing warmth and texture to the low frequencies, while the silver plating adds brightness and clarity to the mid and high frequencies.

The TRI Draco IEMs come with a variety of ear tips to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

You get three TRI Horn-shaped ear tips for enhanced high frequencies, three balanced ear tips for a well-rounded sound, and three bass ear tips for a more powerful bass response.

To protect your IEMs and keep them organised, included is a durable headphone storage pouch.

So without delay, lets get to the review!

As mentioned above, you get 9 pairs of silicone ear tips, usually I’d measure each ear-tip, but with 9 pairs to measure, it’ll be a worthless exercise as all 9 pairs can be spilt down into 3 pairs of each type of tips, each being small, medium, and large in size, but all differ in aesthetic look and function.

The supplied OFC silver-plated copper cable measures approximately 130.0cm in length, the TRS (Tip Ring Sleeve) 3.5mm jack plug has a wider collar than your standard 3.5mm plug, it does mean that your plug protrudes around 3.3mm more than needed.

TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs.

You get a red/blue mark on both the IEM and cable plug that correspond the correct IEM/cable combo.

The earhook design of the cable fits perfectly over the outer part of your ear and keeps your IEMs in place, occasionally some cables can be uncomfortable, especially with prolonged use, but I can confirm that the cable supplied with the TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs is comfortable.

Using the TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs.

Comfort wise, the best TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs are incredibly comfortable, even during prolonged use, they sit nicely in both your inner and outer ear area, no fatigue or heat too.

They sit flush on the outer ear area, so ideal to be used alongside a beanie hat for example, no inward forces!

Right, that’s the comfort side of things covered, they’re comfortable, now to the sound.

It’s hard to explain what the TRI Draco Open-Back 2DD IEMs sound like. But for me they’re OK, nothing too special, and again nothing poor in audio performance. I’d say they’re a great pair of IEMs, nothing spectacular, nothing trash, they’re a decent middle of the road headset

Noise cancellation is surprisingly good, background noise is reduced, thanks to the shell design, isolation is also good, ensuring your audio stays your audio.
