But what are they like? Let’s get to the review!
Packaging and Contents.
The TOZO Open EarRings come packaged in a cardboard box, which shows product images and specifications printed on it.
The box measures 8.6cm x 9.0cm x 3.0cm and weighs 83G.
Inside the box you’ll find the following: 1x Earbuds (inside charging case), 1x Charging Case, 1x USB-A/USB-C Cable, 1x User Guide.
The supplied USB-A/USB-C cable measures approximately 22.0cm in length. You’re free to utilise any USB-C cable, so long as you use a 5V DC power source, you’re good to go.
The in-built 400mAh Lithium-Ion battery inside the charging case takes around 2 hours to charge, the earbuds each feature a 60mAh battery.
To fully charge the earbuds takes around 1.5 hours, once charged you can enjoy approximately 10 hours of audio before needing to recharge in the charging case.
You can use the same charge cycle on the charging case approximately four times before this needs recharging.
You’re free to enjoy around 40 hours of audio in total.
TOZO Open EarRing.
The TOZO Open EarRing charging case measures approximately 65.2mm x 44.7mm x 26.8mm and weighs 48G (this includes both earbuds).
The charging case features an LED battery indicator, on the back you get a USB-C port for recharging purposes.
Towards the right of the USB-C charging port is the reset button, press and hold for 10 seconds to factory reset your TOZO Open EarRing earbuds.
Each earbud measures approximately 29.5mm x 18.2mm x 25.7mm and weighs 5.6G.
The design is unique, I’ve not seen this type of earbud before, so these are a first. They sit on the outer ear area, but also clip over the lob, like a pair of clip-on earrings.
One end is the audio output, the other is the charging contact pins and touch sensitivity control area (more on this later).
The band attached between the audio output and charging area is flexible, so ideal to suit your own earlobes, although they’re not mouldable, which in my opinion would add even more flexibility to the user.
Touch Control.
I said I’d touch on this (pun intended), so here it is. The TOZO Open EarRing do in fact feature touch-sensitive user control, you can control the following:
- Previous Track: Triple tap the left earbud.
- Skip Track: Triple tap the right earbud.
- Volume Down: Press and hold the left earbud.
- Volume Up: Press and hold the right earbud.
- Pause/Play: Double tap either earbud.
- Answer Call: Single tap either earbud.
- End Call: Single tap either earbud.
- Reject Incoming Call: Press and hold either earbud.
- Active Voice Assistant: Tap either earbud four times.
You can also customise the touch controls via the TOZO app (more on this below)
But, the touch-sensitive area controls simply do not work as intended, the touch area is too small and clumsy to make accurate control adjustments.
The area with the touch control isn’t large enough to easily make adjustments and to be honest I can’t see how else TOZO could improve this, there simply isn’t the touch area suitable for touch control.

Take control of your sound! The app boasts a wide selection of 16 pre-set EQ profiles, ranging from genres like Rock and Classical to Hip-Hop and Pop.
Each equalizer profile tailors the audio to perfectly suit the musical style. But that’s not all – the app also allows you to create your own custom EQ settings, letting you fine-tune the sound to your exact preferences.
With the TOZO app, you can easily adjust the bass, treble, and mid-range frequencies to match your personal listening preferences.
Whether you prefer a deep, punchy bass or crisp, clear highs, the app gives you the power to customise your sound experience.
Within the app you can also turn on/off the low latency feature. This allows you to use your TOZO Open EarRing earbuds with video content and gaming use.
I found the lip sync to be fully acceptable for a pair of Bluetooth earbuds, obviously not perfect, but close to a pair of wired IEMs as possible, to be fair it takes some concentration to see any delay, so got everyday use the TOZO Open EarRing earbuds are great for gaming/video use.
Comfort and Sound Quality.
I’ve been using the TOZO Open EarRing for a while now, first impressions are everything right? Right? Well, not with the TOZO Open EarRing earbuds!
My first experience was terrible, I was ready to ditch them immediately, I didn’t like the fitment, nor the audio quality.
But I continued and they started to grow on me, they do take some getting used to, it’s still a strange concept to have your audio externally clipped to your earlobe.
But with continuous use over time you get used to the positioning of the TOZO Open EarRing earbuds, but never used to the positioning of the touch controls (yes, that’s a big disappointment for me).
Sound quality is surprisingly good, I wasn’t hopeful when seeing and using for the first time, but the TOZO Open EarRings sound good.
Noise cancellation and isolation isn’t the best, but most external audio items aren’t to be fair, but the TOZO Open EarRing earbuds do well to produce audio whilst still being able to hear environmental background noises, so they’re ideal for those that go running for example.
Taking phone calls? Then you’ll love the in-built ENC (Environment Noise Cancellation) call noise reduction, making calls clear and crisp.
The Bluetooth range has an advertised range of around 10M, but you can easily get 15M or more, even on different floor levels, all without signal drop.
