Once you open your Kroots KRT50 cardboard box you will find your Kroots KRT50 speaker safely wrapped in a bubble wrap sleeve, a USB/AUX cable and a one-page instruction manual.
Kroots KRT50.
The Kroots KRT50 speaker has a gloss finish to it, it is Black with Rose Gold buttons on the top, the speaker section is Grey.
Although the KRT50 speaker has a nice looking glossy finish it can easily pick up fingerprints and smears, so if you like a pristine out of the box looking product, that will stay fingerprint free, then this speaker will not be for you. But if you want a fantastic sounding speaker that packs a bassy punch then this is the speaker you’ve been looking for.
On the back of the speaker you will find many various ports and functions. A simple On/Off toggle switch, a TF card input slot, a DC5V/AUX input slot, a USB slot and a Headphone input jack.
The Kroots KRT50 measures 20cm wide x 7.0cm high and has a depth of 5.5cm. It also weighs 440g. The underside of the Kroots KRT50 comes with non-slip pads to not only protect your speaker but also delicate surfaces too.
Using the Speaker.
I easily paired the Kroots KRT 50 speaker to my iPhone without any bother at all. Then simply turned on the speaker and selected the Bluetooth mode by pressing the Mode button on the top of the speaker. I then went through my Bluetooth settings on my phone and saw “KRT-50” I was then connected. I was able to straightaway play music from my iTunes library and noticed that I was able to control my phone functions from the Kroots KRT50 speaker, I could pause/play, skip tracks and even control the volume.
The sound was fantastic, although at first it did sound low, that was because my sound setting on my phone was low. All I had to do was slide the volume up on my phone and then I could increase the volume on the Kroots KRT50 speaker. When you hit the volume limit an audible tone appears.
The charging of the speaker was self-explanatory, simply plug in the supplied USB charging cable and plug into a 5V DC supply, the cable also has an AUX plug on it to allow music to be played from a device straight into the Kroots KRT50 speaker. The cable measures 46cm in length.
The instruction manual is hard to read and understand, although written in English it’s very confusing. So if you’re not technology minded and able to figure this out for yourself you might struggle to work the speaker using the supplied instruction manual.

Conclusion.
I found the Kroots KRT50 speaker easy to use and set up. The user instruction manual needs to be re-written to make it easier to understand for all people, not just the technology confident. The speaker really has a nice sound to it, and can be used nearly 10M away from a Bluetooth paired device.
