Today I’m going to be reviewing the BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones. These earphones have a magnetic closure system, which is becoming more popular amongst in-ear earphones. And, as per the industry usual they feature a wireless Bluetooth connection.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 are advertised as being IPX4 waterproof, an inner Nano coating protects the earphones from sweat or light rain when running or during exercise.
A 110mAh li-ion battery supports 8 hours of playtime. You also get a battery indicator on iOS and Android devices.
But are they any good? What do they sound like? Time to test them out!
Packaging and Contents.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones come packaged in a White/Green cardboard sleeved box. The packaging measures 12.3cm x 7.5cm x 4.7cm and weighs 145G.
Upon opening the box you’ll find the following; 1x Earphones, 1x Zip Case, 1x Micro USB Cable, 3x Pairs of Ear Fins, 1x Wire Clip, 3x Pairs of Silicone Ear Tips, 1x Multi-Lingual User Guide, 1x BlitzWolf Contact Card.
BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones are Black in colour and are made from a mixed material; including metal and plastics. They measure (from ear tip to the other ear tip) 65.0cm and weigh only 18G. The ear fins are designed to go over the top of the ear tips and keep the earphones in place of your ear. The fins themselves are made from soft silicone materials.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones clip together magnetically and keeps them secure around your neck when not in use.
You also get in-line user controls too, this control is located on the right-hand side of the earphones and will control volume, track selection and answer/end phone calls.
Charging and Setting Up.
Being rechargeable means the BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones will need charging before you start using them. To do this all you need to do is either use the supplied Micro USB cable (Which has a length of 16.0cm) or use any generic Micro USB Cable. It’s the same type of cable as an Android phone charger!
The Micro USB charging port is located on the in-line user control.
You’ll also need to plug the USB cable into 5V DC power source to give these earphones a full charge. Charging takes around 2 hours and will give you around 8 hours playtime.
Once charged you’ll need to pair these earphones to your device, to do this power them on and perform a search on your mobile phone and connect to the option ‘BW-BTS1’. You’ll now be paired and ready to play music. After a first-time installation the next time you power them on, they’ll automatically connect to the last known device.
Fitment and Controls.
BlitzWolf give you in total 3 pairs of different shaped/sized silicone tips to try out and find the right fit for you and your ears. Choosing the correct tip is important for two different factors.
The first is an obvious one, it’s for comfort and ensure they’ll not only fit into your inner ear canal but also will stay in place too. The second reason is to improve the sound quality, an ill-fitting ear tip can reduce the quality of your audio experience, this is because of sound leakage and background noises can be detected by your ears. To change a tip simply pull the tip off the earphones and push on a new one.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 earphones also have no real right or left insertion markings, only a very small R or L symbol on the silicone ear fin hook. But, for reference the right-hand side earbud is the one with the in-line user control.
It’s very tricky to put a replacement silicone ear fin back onto the earbud section as it keeps trying to remove itself. It takes quite a while but eventually you’ll be able to master the process.
I found them to fit very well in the ear but overall very uncomfortable to wear. Especially after prolonged use my inner ear started to hurt and too did my outer ear section where the ear fins go into place.
In-Line User Control.
The BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones come with in-line user control; this control is located on the upper right-hand side of the earphones. You can control things like volume, track selection and control phone calls too.
Play/Pause: Press the middle power button to play and pause audio.
Volume Up/Down: Press and hold the + button to increase volume and the – button to decrease volume.
Track Selection: Press either the + button to go skip a song, press the – button to go back a track.
Answer/End Phone calls: Press the middle power button to answer a call, press it again to end a call.
Sound Quality.
I was surprised by the sound quality of the BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones. But, not surprised by how good it is though. The sound is very flat and has no bass tones to complement the overpowering treble tones whatsoever
Balance seems to be equal in both ears. The nose cancellation is very poor and you can hear everything in the background, no matter which ear tip you select. The noise isolation is also very poor, sound is leaked from your earbuds for the whole world to hear. These two aspects are essential in any good audio product, without them you might as well use a cheap, generic pair of low quality 1990’s foam Walkman earphones.
You also get a built-in microphone which enables you to make clear handsfree phone calls. This microphone is very good, and the end caller can hear you nice and clear. But having a great microphone is no substitute for poor audio sound.
The Bluetooth signal is very good and will keep a strong signal for around 10M without any issues.

Conclusion.
I’m not a big fan of the BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones. They’re not comfortable and don’t sound great either, which doesn’t make for a good audio product review. They feel very generic and not designed with quality in mind. Any true audio enthusiast will instantly take a dislike to them. It’s a shame as BlitzWolf have a good name within the audio community, but the BW-BTS1 earphones will certainly not be winning them any new fans.
There are more negative points to this review other than the comfort and audio sound. Like for instance the supplied Micro USB cable only being 16.0cm in length, which basically renders it useless. Yes, I know you can use any Micro USB cable, but still a 16.0cm cable! Also, the lack of any prominent Right or Left indicators on the earphones make it almost impossible to know which ear bud goes into which ear. Changing ear tips and ear hooks is also a massive chore and will frustrate you no end.
Overall, I don’t like the BlitzWolf BW-BTS1 Earphones, the sound is terrible and they’re very uncomfortable to wear.
