Today I’ll be reviewing the Anker iPhone Charger Cable. A 1M braided iPhone Lightning charging cable. Each cable is MFi certified, with a certified chip that allows it to work with any Lightning device.

You’re able to use the cable for all Apple devices that use the type of plug, these include iPhone XS/XR/iPhone X/8/7/7 Plus, iPad Pro Air 2, and More.

The braided cable has been designed to last, with each cable bend tested 12,000 times.

So, is this cable any good? Time to test it out!

The Anker iPhone Charger Cable is Black in colour (Red and Silver are also available) it’s outer layer is made from Nylon. Inside you’ll see from the below image materials including Aluminium, and TPE. This combination is to ensure durability. The cable measures 103.0cm, so 3.0cm more than the advertised 1M length, the cable also feels lightweight too and weighs 25G.

Using the Cable.

I was extremely impressed by the quality of the cable. It feels exceptionally durable and built to last. But and this is the biggest point to make, it’s not particularly good as a charging cable. Most cables to an Apple device usually achieve a charging rating of 5V/1A, with better ones achieving 2A. The Anker iPhone Charger Cable managed to charge my iPhone 7 to a rating of 4.8V/0.5A, almost half of a standard cheap cable. This was shocking to discover. Yes, the cable is strong, but lacks the power you’d expect from a high-end brand like Anker.

So, the cable is beautifully engineered to last, but won’t charge your phone equally as an original Apple cable. Anker state on the Amazon listing that their cable will charge your device to the same charging speed of an Apple branded cable. This isn’t true, as you can see above. But it might last longer than the original Apple cable.

Conclusion.

It’s a mixed review for the Anker iPhone Charger Cable. On one hand is durable but on the other it’s not as good as an original Apple cable. It’s literally has half the power of an original Apple cable. The cable does feel strong and one can only presume the 12,000-bend test to be true, I’m not going to sit here and disprove that claim. I haven’t the time nor energy.

But the one claim of being just as good as an Apple cable I can disprove, it’s not as good. Fact!

If you want the Anker iPhone Charger Cable for yourself, it’s available for purchase only on Amazon. The RRP for this product is £7.99.
