Today I’m reviewing the Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight. I was recently (well about 2 months ago) approached by Acebeam about the possibility of reviewing for them, fast forward 2 months and here we are. They kindly sent me a flashlight from their Every Day Carry (EDC) range, Acebeam have a huge product range available, you’re able purchase on the their website and Amazon store.
The Pokelit AA Flashlight is an AA battery powered flashlight, that’s where the AA comes from obviously. But don’t let its size prejudge your thoughts, it’s packed full of interesting and nerdy features. For instance, a CRI≥90 LED (Colour Rendering Index) anything with a numerical value of 80 or above is considered a good light source to view objects in their natural colour. Natural daylight has a value of 100, so the flashlight is as close to sunlight as you can artificially get.
The Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight has a light output distance of 86M and features a 3 light output user choice with a maximum lumen rating of 550. That’s not all, the Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight also comes with an AA USB-C 14500 rechargeable battery, you can also use a standard alkaline AA battery too. The LED itself is a Nichia 219F LED.
So, is this flashlight any good? Time to test it out!

Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight.
The Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight is made from aircraft grade 7075 aluminium alloy and measures 94.5mm x 18.1mm and weighs 57G (with battery and clip included). You get a choice of black, orange, or green in colour, I was sent black.
The tail cap switch features a rubbered knurled effect, which aides grip.
The clip is removable and rotatable around the body of the flashlight too.
Battery.
The Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight comes supplied with a 1500 920mAh AA USB Type C 3.7V 3.4Wh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. To retrieve this battery, simply rotate the torch head anti-clockwise and you’ll see the battery there.
Charging is very simple thanks to the USB-C charging port located on the AA battery itself. You can use the supplied charging cable (Which measures 20.0cm) or any other USB-C type cable. You then supply a typical 5V USB power source, charging indication can be seen by a red LED on the top of the AA battery, which turns green upon a fully charged cycle.
Charging takes around a couple of hours and dependant on use can last up to 58 hours using the supplied battery. But the usage time changes on the battery you use.

Use.
The Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight is nicely balanced in your hand, on the side of the body you’ll see some machined ridges, this provides both grip, but also acts as heat dissipation when in use. The Acebeam Pokelit AA Flashlight is also IP68 (resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes) water resistance and 1.5 meters impact resistance.
I was impressed with the light output when in use, for a small flashlight it really is impressive and comparable with another brand (I won’t name them obvs) that I’ve previously reviewed, although my website is a snitch and probably recommends what I’m referring to below as a recommended read for you.
