CAIGOGOO Stainless Steel Straws

Today I’m going to be reviewing the CAIGOGOO Stainless Steel Straws. These straws have been designed to be re-useable, so you don’t end up using disposable plastic straws.

You get 5 angled straws and 5 straight straws, so can be used by most people and for most types of drinks.

We all need to do our part in reducing our plastic consumption and these straws are a great way to start.

They can be washed in a dishwasher and used time and time again.

But are they any good? What’s the quality like? Time to test them out!

Packaging and Contents.

The CAIGOGOO Stainless Steel Straws don’t come supplied with any packaging, which is a good marketing thing. Imagine having these straws delivered to you wrapped in plastic! They do come supplied in a Black velvet touch pouch.

Inside the pouch you’ll find the following; 5x Angled Straws, 5x Straight Straws, 2x Cleaning Brushes.

CAIGOGOO Stainless Steel Straws.

These straws are made from food-grade 18/8 stainless steel, FDA approved, 100% plastic-free, anti-rusting, and reusable. Each straw measures 26.5cm, the angled straw has the same total length. The hole diameter is around 6.0mm.

As mentioned above you get 5 straight and 5 angled straws. You also get 5 different colours, 1 colour for each type of straw. These colours are; Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, Black, Iridescent (Rainbow Pattern).

Using and Caring.

You use these straws in the same way as you’d use a disposable plastic or paper straw, but instead of disposing, you simply clean them and they’re ready for use next time. You can hand wash each straw and use the supplied pipe cleaner brush, or if like take the lazy approach and toss them into your dishwasher. It’s OK they’re dishwasher safe. The cleaning brush measures 22.5cm in length, with a cleaning head length of 5.0cm.

I found the brush to be a tight fit into the inner diameter of each straw and particularly found it difficult to clean the angled straw at the point of the bend. This is because the cleaning brush is not flexible enough to go beyond the point of the bend and there’s a small section of the angled part that the brush can’t clean. Even trying from the other end, you still can’t quite reach it.

But if you plan to clean these straws in a dishwasher then that’s not really an issue!

Conclusion.

I really like these CAIGOGOO Stainless Steel Straws. I’m always trying to look at ways that I can reduce on plastic waste and these straws are perfect for that.

The cleaning brushes need to be more flexible in order to get into the bend of the straws, but other than, these straws are fantastic. You have multiple colours and a choice of design for every refreshing summer drink.
