Today I’ll be writing about a multi-awarding small business called Ness-Sea Glass which was formed by Sarah in April 2019.

Ness-Sea Glass is based near to the world-famous Loch Ness, in Scotland where the magic of the Loch Ness monster has inspired many stories. Sarah and her family collect naturally tumbled pieces of glass that appear on the shoes of the Loch.

Sarah and her glass treasure hunting family collect the jewels Nessie drops. But unfortunately find themselves also picking up rubbish, that can sometimes wash ashore too.

Ness-Sea Glass creates a multitude of products, all handmade, all unique and a little piece of Loch Ness magic is captured into each item. The idea for the business came about when Sarah produced some pieces of jewellery for family. The next step was taking the plunge with listing 9 trial pieces on Etsy. You’ll be amazed to here, they sold quickly, in fact in only a few days. The website for Ness-Sea Glass was soon formed and today has worldwide customers buying Nessie magic.

The best time for Sarah and her family to visit the Loch to collect glass is during the Autumn and Winter season. Tourism is lower and the turbulent Scottish weather stirs up the glass and so more wonderful pieces can be found. Sarah has of course seen Nessie herself, but won’t reveal where her boss is hiding.

I’ll be reviewing a seasonal item today. I’m going to be writing about a sea glass Christmas Tree bauble.

Packaging and Contents.

The piece I received from Ness-Sea Glass arrived in a black cardboard giftbox (you get a choice of colour depending on your product selection).

Inside the box was my Christmas Tree bauble. The bauble measures 20.0cm in circumference and 8.0cm in height. The tartan loop measures 8.0cm in length. In total my bauble weighs 43G, each bauble is handmade so will differ in style and weight. The charm that I chose was a snowflake, but you can choose from an angel, reindeer, or a present charm. The bauble is made from plastic, which if you have a cat like me, you’ll be glad to hear.

Ness-Sea Glass.

Although I’m reviewing the Ness-Sea Glass bauble, the main website has a range of products. This rang includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, cufflinks, bookmarks, charms, keyrings and much more. I’ll add a little product slideshow beneath.

This really is a small section of the range you can expect to find on the Ness-Sea Glass website, which is a secure SSL website and allows you to pay via credit/debit card through PayPal.

Away from crafting Sarah is an active supporter and promotor of other small business, especially on X (Twitter). She also co-hosts a special Twitter hashtag hour called #UKCraftersHour every Sunday evening between 19:30 and 20:30 UK time. This crafting hour showcases some of the absolute best work of crafting small businesses.

Conclusion.

A perfect score of 10/10 today for Ness-Sea Glass. There’s nothing I can fault, I even (don’t attempt this) dropped my bauble onto my wooden floor and it survived. I had to test whether my cat would damage it this Christmas, and I can safely say no.

I love it and will be hanging it on my tree this year.

I’m happy to 100% recommend Ness-Sea Glass. A wonderful, supportive and caring small business.

If you want some Nessie magic for yourself, everything is available for purchase only on the Ness-Sea Glass website.
