Losing your keys or bag can be a right pain, can’t it? UGREEN might have just the ticket with their FineTrack Smart Finder. Having recently given the UGREEN FineTrack Slim Smart Finder a good going over, I’m now having a look at this standard model. It aims to offer a similar bit of peace of mind for keeping tabs on your bits and bobs.
This neat little tracker is designed to attach easily to your everyday essentials, like keyrings or luggage tags.
It offers a bit of reassurance, letting you keep an eye on your belongings.
But it’s not just about tagging your stuff, mind.
UGREEN reckons this handy gadget is packed with features to help you breathe a bit easier.
Crucially, and just like the Slim model, UGREEN has been officially authorised by Apple.
It boasts Apple ‘Find My’ certification for iOS users, naturally.
Furthermore, it features a long-lasting, replaceable battery, promising up to two years of use.
What’s more, an 80dB buzzer helps you pinpoint misplaced items nearby, and ‘left behind’ reminders offer a bit of extra security.
All in all, the standard FineTrack Smart Finder looks like a pretty practical bit of kit.
UGREEN uses the Apple ‘Find My’ network for tracking all over the shop.
Consequently, you can locate your tagged items pretty much anywhere there are Apple devices knocking about.
While it doesn’t have the super-slim profile or waterproof rating of the Slim version I had a look at recently, it’s still built to handle the usual bumps and scrapes.
So then, could this straightforward smart finder be the answer to your lost item worries?

Packaging and Contents.
The UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder turns up in a compact cardboard box with a sleeve, showing off product pictures and the lowdown on what it does.
The box measures 13.5cm x 10.0cm x 1.5cm and weighs 90g.
Inside the box, you’ll find the following:

The inclusion of both a lanyard and a reset pin is a thoughtful touch, giving you immediate ways to attach the tracker and sort out the battery if needed.
UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder (Device Overview)
The UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder is a small, square-shaped gadget with a simple, no-nonsense design.
It feels reasonably sturdy despite being lightweight.
There’s a single button on the front, along with a little LED indicator.
A key advantage over the Slim model I reviewed earlier is its user-replaceable CR2032 coin battery, which should last up to two years.
Measuring roughly 36mm x 36mm x 7.4mm and weighing in at about 11g, it’s got a built-in keyring hole.
This is a handy feature, meaning you don’t need extra bits and bobs to attach it, unlike the Slim model which was more of a card shape.
Just like the Slim version, the standard UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder is just for iOS and uses Apple’s ‘Find My’ network, needing iOS 14.5 or later.
Pairing is dead easy, much like it was with the Slim model:
- First off, make sure Bluetooth is switched on on your Apple device.
- Next, press and hold the button on the FineTrack Smart Finder until the LED light starts blinking.
- Then, open up the ‘Find My’ app on your iOS device.
- Tap ‘Add Item’, followed by ‘Other Supported Item’.
- Bring the tracker close to your Apple device and tap ‘Connect’ when it pops up.
- After that, you can give your tracker a name and pick an emoji for it.
- Finally, confirm the pairing, and you should hear a short confirmation beep – just one beep, mind, unlike the Slim model’s three.
Your UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder will now show up in your ‘Find My’ app.
Using the UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder.
The UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder works on the same basic principle as the Slim version, using Apple’s massive ‘Find My’ network.
It sends out a secure Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signal, which nearby Apple devices can pick up anonymously.
These devices then relay the tracker’s approximate location to Apple’s servers, so you can see it in your ‘Find My’ app.
As with the Slim version, location updates aren’t a live feed; instead, they show the last known location detected by another Apple device.
How often it updates depends on how many Apple devices are knocking about near your tracker.
The ‘Find My’ app lets you do a few things with your UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder, much like it did with the Slim model:
- See Location on a Map: Have a look at the most recent location of your tracker.
- Play Sound: Make the tracker bleep to help you find it if it’s nearby. This sound, while it does the job, is a bit higher pitched than an AirTag’s chime and, to my ears, didn’t seem quite as loud as the buzzer on the Slim model.
- Left Behind Notifications: Set up alerts to tell you if you wander off without your tagged item.
- Mark as Lost: If your item goes missing, you can mark it as lost and put in your contact details. Then, if another ‘Find My’ network user finds your tracker, they’ll see how to get in touch.
- Share with Others: You can let up to five other people see the tracker’s location, a feature that was also on the Slim version.
Other Features.
The UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder also has a little LED light that flashes when you’re pairing it and when the sound goes off, similar to the visual cues on the Slim model.
A key difference from the Slim version is the battery.
This standard model uses a CR2032 coin battery, which you can get your hands on easily and swap out yourself.
UGREEN reckons it’ll last up to two years, which is pretty handy compared to having to recharge the Slim model.
What’s more, the battery compartment has a childproof design, needing the included pin to open, which is a good bit of safety.
Unlike the Slim model with its IP68 rating, the standard FineTrack Smart Finder doesn’t have an official rating for being waterproof or dustproof.
However, it feels reasonably well-made for everyday use, though it’s best not to get it soaking wet.

FineTrack Smart Finder: A Solid and Sensible Tracker, Then?
So, does the UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder actually help you keep tabs on your belongings?
Having recently spent some time with the super-slim version, this standard model offers a slightly different take.
All the same, for iOS users after a reliable and affordable tracker that works seamlessly with Apple’s ‘Find My’ system, the answer’s a yes from me.
UGREEN has come up with a functional and reasonably priced alternative to Apple’s AirTag.
While it might not be as svelte (or as waterproof) as its sibling or have the super-accurate finding skills of an AirTag, it offers a decent set of features for the money.
The main plus points of the standard FineTrack Smart Finder are how easy it is to use, the long-lasting and replaceable battery – a real bonus compared to having to charge the Slim model – and how smoothly it works with the ‘Find My’ app.
What’s more, the built-in keyring hole is a practical touch, and including a lanyard is a nice little extra.
The 80dB buzzer is loud enough to find things nearby.
Using Apple’s ‘Find My’ network means it works pretty much anywhere.
However, just like with the Slim version, how accurate and how often it updates depends on how many Apple devices are nearby.
Final Verdict: Who Should Buy the UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder?
The UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder is a cracking choice for Apple users wanting a dependable and affordable way to keep an eye on their everyday bits and bobs.
The user-replaceable battery is a real winner, offering long-term convenience without the faff of recharging – a key difference from the Slim model I reviewed not long ago.
If you don’t need a super-slim design or the pinpoint accuracy of an AirTag, and you like the idea of a replaceable battery and a built-in keyring hole, then the UGREEN FineTrack Smart Finder is a sensible investment.
It gives you peace of mind and the security of Apple’s ‘Find My’ network without breaking the bank.
