The TKZK TK02 IEMs: a budget-friendly audiophile’s dream? Are they good quality? What do they sound like?
The TKZK TK02 IEMs aim to build upon the success of their predecessor, the TK01, offering enhanced sound quality and a refined design.
With a focus on delivering a premium listening experience at an affordable price, these earbuds have generated significant buzz among audiophiles and casual listeners alike.
Clad in a sleek, resin-drop glue design, the TK02 IEMs exude a premium aesthetic.
The tangle-free cable and gold-plated 2-pin connector not only enhance durability but also offer customisation options for audiophiles.
The nanoscale composite diaphragm delivers a more natural low-frequency response and a transparent, delicate high-frequency performance.
Through rigorous simulations and testing, TKZK has optimised the speaker design.
By fine-tuning factors like the magnetic circuit, diaphragm, cavity volume, and conduit angle, they’ve achieved a highly accurate sound reproduction, even for entry-level models.
This meticulous approach ensures a high-quality listening experience.
So without delay, let’s get to the review!
Packaging and Contents.
The TKZK TK02 IEMs come packaged in a white sleeved box which shows product images and printed specifications.
The box measures 10.1cm x 7.5cm x 3.5cm and weighs 73G.
Inside the box you’ll find the following: 1x IEMs (with medium ear tips on), 1x Cable, 2x Additional Pairs of Silicone Ear-Tips, 1x English/Chinese User Guide.
You get three pairs or Silicone ear-tips, these measure approximately:
- Small: 10.9mm x 8.2mm
- Medium: 11.9mm x 7.8mm
- Large: 13.2mm x 8.8mm
Changing a tip is as easy as you’d expect from changing IEMs tips.
The supplied oxygen-free copper cable measures approximately 1.2m in length.
You get an angled 3.5mm gold-plated plug. I have the non microphone option, so it’s a TRS (tip ring sleeve) plug.
I’m not a fan of the frosted/translucent design of the plug, it reveals the copper cable underneath, which aesthetically doesn’t look the best, but that’s just my personal preference.
TKZK TK02 IEMs.
Each TKZK TK02 IEM measures approximately 19.7mm x 22.8mm x 24.3mm and weighs 4.8G (with ear-tip attached)
I’m a huge fan of the purple/gold colour combination and I think we can agree that these TKZK TK02 IEMs are beautiful.
TKZK have either black or white colour options available. All colour options also have the choice with a in-line microphone cable too.
The slightly translucent shell design allows you to take a peek of the internal layout, the aesthetic of the TKZK TK02 IEMs is a huge selling point for me, a good looking pair of IEMs are always sought after for audio collectors.
The gold accents add that chefs kiss to the overall design, an absolute beauty in the audio world.
Wearing and Sound Quality.
I’ve been using the TKZK TK02 IEMs for a little while now, both for audio and video viewing use.
The TKZK TK02 IEMs are incredibly comfortable, especially over a prolonged period of use. They’re angled perfectly to sit comfortably into both your inner and outer ear, all without fatigue.
My new silicone ear model above shows the fitment of the TKZK TK02 IEMs. As you can see they sit perfectly both in the ear and the cable sits perfectly over the top of the ear.
The IEM doesn’t protrude outward either, so you can wear a beanie hat without fear of causing internal ear pain.
As mentioned above, I’ve been using for both audio and video viewing use. With the video viewing I can confirm latency is incredibly low, as you’d expect with a pair of wired earphones, making them ideal for video and gaming use.
Now, the audio aspect of the TKZK TK02 IEMs.
The TKZK TK02 IEMs sound amazing, with clear, punchy bass tones and vocals.
Distortion is hardly noticeable, even when volume is increased beyond what I find comfortable, sound isolation and cancellation is above average too, assisted by the shell design, which ensures a close fitment, which blocks out unwanted background noise.
They’re incredible, especially when you consider the TKZK TK02 IEMs being at the bargain end of the audio market.
Both audiophiles and newbies will certainly enjoy these IEMs.
Not only do they looks absolutely gorgeous, but they’re a decent sounding pair of IEMs.
