The Olight i3T EOS is a small, but powerful pocket torch that’s ready for use whenever you need it. It’s compact size and powerful light output makes this torch by Olight a convenient and robust product.
You can put this small torch on your bunch of keys, hook it onto your belt loop, or even just put into your pocket for quick easy use.
The Olight i3T EOS is made from highly durable and robust Aluminium materials with the benefit of using LED lighting technology.
But is this torch any good? Will its small size be any good? Time to test it out!
Packaging.
The Olight i3T EOS comes neatly packaged in a White cardboard box. There’s picture illustrations and written product specifications also printed on the box. The box measures 11.5cm x 4.0cm x 1.7cm and weighs 60G.
Contents.
Upon opening the Olight i3T EOS box you’ll find the following items. 1x Torch, 1x AAA Battery, 1x Multi-Lingual User Guide.
Olight i3T EOS.
The Olight i3T EOS is Black in colour with White lettering for the logo and other relevant markings, the outer casing is made from Aluminium. The torch measures 8.6cm in length x 1.3cm in diameter and weighs a mere 41G.
The tail cap is made from rubber, this is also where you can turn the torch on and off. The button on the end has a tactile feel and provides grip. You also get a removable belt clip, this is a useful feature and is also a robust constructed clip too.
To insert the required battery, you’ll need to unscrew the tail cap away from the main casing in an anti-clockwise direction and insert a AAA Alkaline battery making sure to correctly install with the correct polarity of the battery. In the manual Olight say you can run the i3T EOS with a choice of 3 different batteries. Obviously, you can use a AAA Alkaline battery, but you can also use a AAA Lithium Battery or even a AAA NiMH battery too. This gives you more options and better performance if you choose to use the Lithium battery in outdoor working environments.
Using the Olight i3T EOS.
This torch is probably the simplest operated torch that you can get from Olight. You have one on/off button and only two lighting modes in total, that’s it!
Press the switch once and you’ll be on the lowest light output level of just 5 Lumens, turn the torch off, and then turn it on again and now you’re on the highest 180 Lumens light setting. I would prefer an option to be able to go from the low setting to the highest setting by pressing and holding the switch but that’s not possible. You must turn it off and turn it back on again!
Now, I know there are many torches out there of the same sort of size that can produce more than 180 Lumens, but at what cost? Do you really need a brighter torch of this size? I’m sure the battery life would drain a lot quicker than the 21 minutes of the Olight i3T EOS. I also noted the Olight torch was still cool to the touch on the glass area when it was in use for over 10 minutes, this surprised me. Normally, you get a lot of heat but not in this instance. Would increasing the light levels to a higher Lumen level increase heat and thus damaging the LED construction, I think it would! So Olight have you covered with a torch that’s been designed to last over their 5-year warranty promise.
Olight i3T EOS Size.
The Olight i3T EOS is small, but quite powerful. Don’t let its small stature deter you away from the fact it’s a quality piece. It feels nice in the hand and comfortable too, you’re able to reach the tail cap switch without stretching your digits too much and causing strain. I felt the torch was well balanced too!
I have one suggestion I propose a middle light option, that would be great, somewhere around 80 Lumens would be ample enough and the AAA battery should last a couple of hours!
I would’ve also liked Olight to supply a keyring, so you can clip it straight away to your i3T EOS. But, for a small torch you’re getting in my opinion a great torch for your money.

Conclusion.
I really like this small torch from Olight. It’s bright enough to keep with you always, and light enough for you to not notice you’re carrying it too! I do have a couple of suggestion though. A middle light setting would be good, I also would’ve liked Olight to supply a heavy-duty keyring too (Maybe I want more for my money).
But, overall, I can’t fault this little pocket torch and I recommend you purchase one, it’s on the budget end of what Olight charge per product and easily a great first Olight purchase. After this, you’ll love Olight and start to collect these great much-loved torches.
