Today I’ll be reviewing these ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones. With a striking colour combination of Lime Green and Black these sport earphones are waterproof (Rated to IPX7) and come with a built-in polymer lithium battery.
Not only are they very good looking but also come with on-ear controls and feature a non-slip over-ear hook design. Perfect for active people.
Connection is made via a Bluetooth V4.1 CSR BC8635 chipset and feature CVC 6.0 noise cancelling.
But are they any good? What do they sound like? Time to test them out!
Packaging and Contents.
The ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones come packaged in a Black/Green cardboard sleeved box which features product images and specifications. The packaging measures 10.0cm x 10.0cm x 5.0cm and weighs 105G.
Upon opening the box you’ll find the following; 1x Earphones, 1x Carry Case, 1x Micro USB Cable, 1x Wire Clip, 4x Silicone Ear Tips, 1x English User Guide, 1x ANBES Contact Card.
ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones.
The ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones are Lime Green and Black in colour (Red & Black also available). They measure (from ear tip to the other ear tip) 55.0cm and weigh only 20G. The ear hooks are designed to go over the top of your ear and keep the earphones in place. The hooks themselves are made from rigid silicone materials.
A waterproof rating of IPX7 ensures you can use them outside with no issues from rain or sweat. You also get user controls on the righthand side earphone. You can control volume, track selection and control phone calls too.
Charging and Setting Up.
Before you set off and pound the pavement with your club bangers, you’ll need to give these ANBES U13 earphones a charge. This is a simple process using either the supplied Micro USB Cable (Which measures 30.0cm) or any other generic Micro USB cable. On the bottom area of the righthand side earphone there is rubber plug, pop this out and you’ll see the Micro USB charging port.
Charging is also simple, hook up the USB section into any 5V DC power source and it takes around 2 hours to fully charge the built-in polymer lithium battery. A full charge will give you around 8 hours of audio time or around 250 hours of standby time. Colour LED indicators are used to indicate charging status.
Now once you’re all charged up, it’s time to connect these beauties to your smartphone. This process is also simple. Firstly, power on the ANBES U13 earphones by pressing and holding the power/multi-function button on the right earphone, you’ll hear a power confirmation, secondly search on your smartphone for ‘ANBES U13’ and pair to that option. That’s it! You’re ready to listen and enjoy sweet audio tunes.
After a first-time installation the next time you power them on, they’ll automatically connect to the last known device. Again, simple and easy.
Fitment and Controls.
ANBES give you in total 4 pairs of different shaped/sized silicone tips to try out and find the right fit for you and your ears. Choosing the correct tip is important for two different factors.
The first is an obvious one, it’s for comfort and ensure they’ll not only fit into your inner ear canal but also will stay in place too. The second reason is to improve the sound quality, an ill-fitting ear tip can reduce the quality of your audio experience, this is because of sound leakage and background noises can be detected by your ears. To change a tip simply pull the tip off the earphones and push on a new one. Again, simple and easy! (This is becoming a running theme)
You can control your whole audio experience using the controls on the righthand earphone. Below is what you can do with these controls.
Play/Pause: Press the middle power button to play and pause audio.
Volume Up/Down: Use the + button to increase volume and the – button to decrease volume.
Track Selection: Use the same above volume button but press and hold for 1.5 seconds to skip and go back.
Answer/End Phone calls: Press the middle power button to answer a call, press it again to end a call.
Redial Last Number: Double press the middle power button to call your last dialed number.
Sound Quality.
The most important factor when selecting audio equipment is the sound quality. The ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones sound OK and are certainly up there with other great sounding audio equipment that I’ve reviewed before on this site. Obviously for the money they’re not going to be able to perform against a more premium model, but for their price-range they sound OK.
Balance seems to be equal in both ears and the advertised Bluetooth signal range of 10M is undersold, you can get around 15M of signal before they start to break up. I tried to interrupt the signal but the ANBES U13 kept going strong and I was unable to cut them out. So, the Bluetooth signal is very good and strong.
The ANBES U13 also cut out almost every piece of background environment noise (Noise Cancellation) and the you can become totally immersed into your music. Sound leakage (Noise Isolation) is also very good, even at high audio levels you won’t piss off anyone else around you.
There weren’t any advertised performance ranges, so I had to resort to testing them myself and concluded the following:
Frequency Range: 30Hz (Bass) – 15,000Hz (Treble)
So, both Bass/Treble ranges were in-line with other audio devices on the marketplace and confirm that the ANBES U13 are an OK sounding set of audio earphones.
You also get a built-in microphone which enables you to make clear handsfree phone calls. This microphone is very good, and the end caller can hear you nice and clear.

Conclusion.
I like the ANBES U13 Bluetooth Earphones. They look great with a bright Green and Black colour combination. I certainly like the design and look of them. I’m not able to find anything bad or negative to say about them, they perform OK and are both comfortable and feature a superb Bluetooth signal too.
Possibly the only improvement, and if I’m being fussy would be the short Micro USB cable that’s supplied, but that’s really pushing it as you can use any generic cable if that’s an issue.
They sound OK and work well too.
