Eco-friendly alternative t-shirts inspired by plants, nature & the world we live in
Description
Plants and the world we live in.....
I'm Howard and I've been designing t-shirts since 2021 with an emphasis on all things botanical. I'm a plant fanatic and keen wild gardener. Over the years I've experimented with no-mow lawns and growing all kinds of herbs and wildflowers. I firmly believe in the power of plants to heal the mind and body, and make the world a better place.
I started designing t-shirts because I couldn't find anything I wanted to wear myself. There are plenty of generic floral designs out there, but that's not what I was looking for. I want to celebrate wild plants and shout it from the roof tops! I also wanted something more stylish and mysterious, possibly less 'flowery' and things I could wear with jackets to go out, as well as designs for gardening.
All of my t-shirts are designed using original graphics, often using real plants from my garden or local area. I often include the uses of herbs as part of the design, hopefully helping to share some of the benefits of these amazing plants.
We use Teemill to fulfill all of our orders, so you can be confident in your purchase. You can pay be credit card or Paypal, and we offer FREE returns and exchanges on all of our t-shirts. At Herbologist we do not store any of your payment details or data as all of the payment side, printing and dispatch are taken care of by Teemill.
Teemill are the only on-demand clothing supplier we could find with truly green & ethical credentials. All items are eco-friendly, made with natural plant-based materials and are fully recyclable into new t-shirts as part of the Remill scheme. Organic cotton t-shirts are ethically sourced from India and printed on-demand in the UK using low waste, non-toxic inks.
We wear all of our own t-shirt designs and test as many items of clothing as we can. I can say that as long as you follow the wash instructions you will get many happy years wearing our clothing. Wash at 30C using a colour safe detergent and never iron the print. I'm still wearing t-shirts from 3 years ago with no fading or peeling.
We hope you enjoy browsing our collections and maybe wearing one of our original designs to show your love of plants to the world!
FAQ's
Are products vegan friendly?
Yes, as part of our GOTS certification we are audited to ensure that our products do not contain animal derived ingredients, and to ensure our products have not been tested on animals.
This certification is seed-to-shop and includes our organic cotton and printing technology. Many vegans shop with us for this reason.
How should I care for my t-shirts?
We recommend a cool wash at 30 and hang drying products, to ensure print and product quality and longevity.
Our products are not suitable for high temperature washing, tumble drying, bleaching or dry-cleaning. Avoid ironing straight onto the printed designs. These methods can cause unwanted shrinkage, the inks to fade, or the prints to crack, flake or peel.
Where are you based?
We are based in Nottingham, England and design all of our t-shirts from home. Most designs are inspired by the natural world and we often create graphics from photos of plants in our own garden & local area. We use Teemill to print the clothing on-demand so there is zero waste. They are based on the Isle of Wight and printing is done in the UK.
Are products sustainable?
It’s what our supplier Teemill are known for. Our products are made from certified organic cotton, powered by renewable energy and every product is designed to come back to us when it’s worn out - we make new products from the material we recover.
Teemill won the Queen’s Award for Innovation for our work on making the first circular economy for fashion.
What is your returns policy?
We hope you love your order, but completely understand there may be times when you need to return something to us.
A link to the online returns form can be found in your confirmation email receipt and your dispatch email but if you need any help, or have any questions about a return, please use the contact form to get in touch with our support team.
You may cancel your order or return your products at any time, up until the later of 14 days after you receive the products or 28 days after we dispatch them for delivery to you.
But, unless they are defective, we cannot accept returns of custom products (meaning our Plants Fight Back custom t-shirt where you can add your own graphics or text) or any products that have been washed or worn.
What size should I buy?
To ensure the best fit, we recommend checking the sizing chart provided on each product page. The chart correlates measurements with specific sizes, helping you find the right fit. We've tried out all of the products we sell and they fit true to UK sizes. However, if you prefer a baggier look, we recommend upsizing (other than relaxed fit t-shirts). Personally I wear a Large at big brands such as Next, and also buy our products in Large. However, I occasionally buy an XL for a looser fit.
We operate a free exchange policy (free returns address on UK orders) should you need to swap your item for another size. Please note, for EU/International orders, you’ll need to pay to send any items back.
If you’re still unsure, please use the contact form to get in touch.
