Vypertech 2 in 1 Cable

The Vypertech 2 in 1 Cable is a special cable that allows you to charge your iPhone and Android devices using the same cable, with no special adapters.

Simply insert this cable into any mobile phone device and the Vypertech cable will charge with an output of 2.4 Amps.

But is this cable any good? How does it fit? Time to test it out!

The Vypertech 2 in 1 Cable comes packaged in a cardboard sleeve with a clear plastic viewing window on the front.  The packaging measures 18.5cm x 7.5cm x 0.1cm and weighs 30G.

The Vypertech 2 in 1 Cable is Silver in colour with Black detailing on a braided cable.  One end of the cable features a standard USB plug, whilst the other features the special Lightning/Micro USB plug.  The cable measures 1M in length.

I tried the cable out on both an iPhone and an Android tablet.  I found the cable fully inserts into the iPhone, and on the tablet it does not full insert into the port, it sits around 2mm out.

But, it did charge both devices.

Vypertech advertise that the cable can achieve 2.4A.  On the iPhone I measured an output of 2.2A, and on the Android tablet a measurement of only 0.9A was recorded.  This measurement was recorded using the AVHzY CT-2 USB Power Meter Load Tester.

Conclusion.

The Vypertech 2 in 1 Cable is OK.  It does work on both iOS and Android devices but not at the current specified though.  But, one cable can work for both types of devices, and it will charge, but might take longer for your Android device to fully charge.

It’s a great idea and a great cable to keep in case you’re out and about and require either a Lightning or Micro USB cable to charge a device.

Overall, I like the design and the unique idea behind the cable, but the current rate for the Micro USB does need improving somehow.
