Torus Pro N69 Fitness Tracker.

The Torus Pro N69 Fitness Tracker is made from a variety of mixed materials, these include; synthetic rubbers, plastic, metal, and glass.  The strap colour is Light Grey with Chrome detailing around the watch face.  You can wear the watch strap if you have wrist measurement of 13.0cm – 20.0cm in circumference, the strap also has a width of 2.0cm.  The watch face has a total diameter of 4.5cm and the glass LCD screen has a diameter measurement of 3.5cm.  The Torus Pro N69 weighs 55G.

On the right-hand side of the watch there are two usable control buttons, the first one is the Function Key, and the other is the On/Off Key.  There are two cosmetic dummy buttons on the left-hand side.

On the back of the watch is where you’ll see both the charging port and the heart rate sensor.

Charging the Torus Pro N69.

You’ll need to give the Torus Pro N69 a quick charge to activate it.  To do this you’ll need to use the supplied magnetic charging cable (Which has a length of 60.0cm) and you’ll need to plug the USB end of the cable into any 5V DC plug or power source.

Now, just magnetically attach the prongs of the cable onto the charging ports on the back of the watch, they can only magnetise one way, so you can’t mix polarity.  Once connected the watch will power up with some software information and a battery charging indicator will be visible.

Unlike other branded models that I’ve reviewed the magnetic catches are very impressive and seem to hold onto the charging ports of the watch without coming away easily.

Download the iWear App.

The next thing to do is to download the app that accompanies the tracker, it’s called iWear and it is available to both iOS and Android smartphone users.

Please note:  The Torus Pro N69 requires a minimum operating system of iOS 8.0 or above for iPhone users and Android 4.4 for Android smartphone users.  You’ll need to ensure that your device supports a Bluetooth connection of 4.0 or above!

Once downloaded you’ll need to open the App, when you open the App up for the first time you’ll need to give permission to be sent notifications and then you’ll be able to pair a new device.

Pairing.

To pair, simply press the pair option and the screen will try and find the N69.  I couldn’t find it first all, so I had to refresh the page and I saw the N69 appear, you’ll need to remember to press “Pairing Device” at the bottom of the screen to complete the binding process.

You should be now connected to the App and it’s a good idea to set up an account and input some of your information.  To do this press the cog symbol in the top right-hand of the screen and then select “User Profile”, now you’ll be able to upload your mugshot, change your displayed nickname, gender selection, and all your usual height and weight (Be truthful at this stage) information is next.  Please note all this input information is in metric, but if you like to use the imperial system you’ll need to make a quick setting change by going back to the menu, selecting “Unit Setting” and then change the setting to imperial.  But for me who can only understand the metric system I will stick with the standard setting.

Using the Torus Pro N69.

You’re able to control the Torus Pro N69 from both the iWear App and the watch itself.  The watch is non-touchscreen which for me takes some time getting used to.  You control much of the watch function only using the one button, the Function Key.  You press it once to scroll through the menu options and if you want to enter any of these menu’s you’ll need to press and hold this button.

Conclusion.

I love the look and design of the Torus Pro N69, and especially the LED screen with colourful digits.  The watch does feel quite big and bulky on the wrist, but if this is your sort of thing then this will be great for you.  Another great feature is the charging method, it grips onto the watch and lets you charge it easily compared to other brands that I’ve reviewed.

Now here comes the bad parts.  The App is ok but really needs an overhaul, it’s clumsy and not very user friendly.  The user manual is poorly written and very complicated to understand, you also need excellent eyesight to read it too as the text is so small.  I would also like to be able to set the watch up to record activities like swimming, running, cycling and so on, but you can’t, the Torus Pro N69 is an automatic pedometer and calorie counter.

But saying all that, I still love it.  Who can hate such a thing of beauty?, and the Torus Pro N69 feels a lot more expensive than other brands that I’ve reviewed, it just feels like it has been designed to last.

If you want the Torus Pro N69 Fitness Tracker for yourself, it’s available for purchase only on Amazon. The RRP for this product is £50.00..
