The Leesa Mattress is just one mattress of the many compressed mattresses in a box that you see advertised just about everywhere these days.

There so many different brands, sleep trial periods, materials, and every one of them promise a great night’s sleep guaranteed.  But is The Leesa Mattress any good?  Did I get a good night’s kip? Will it impress me? Time to test it out!

Packaging and Contents.

The Leesa Mattress comes packaged very neatly in a White cardboard box.  The box measures 114cm x 44.0cm x 44.0cm and weighs a hefty 31KG.

Upon opening The Leesa Mattress box you will find the following items. 1x Mattress. The mattress is all curled up and decompressed (Think a vacuum garment storage bag)

The Leesa Mattress.

The Leesa Mattress is Grey in colour with White detailing, the outer cover is removable and has a seamless design.  The actual mattress itself is made from 3 sandwiched layers of different foam, each layer has a different density and function.

The top layer is made from Cooling Avena Foam and has a depth of 5cm, this layer provides airflow, so you’ll get a great night’s sleep.

In the middle you get pressure relieving memory foam, this has a depth again of 5cm and this layer contours to your body shape and provides support for your body.

And finally, the last layer is the dense core support layer, this has a massive depth of 15cm and is used to add strength, durability, and structure.

I ordered the UK double which has a measurement of 135.0cm x 190.0cm x 25.0cm.  The Leesa Mattress comes in a variety of sizes including both UK and EU sizing for every bed from a single mattress right upto super king size.

Leesa also allow to purchase your mattress on finance without needing a deposit.  The Leesa Mattress can be brought at a fixed 0% interest free rate and financed from Divido.

The Leesa Mattress is also manufactured right here in the UK, to be precise it’s made in Glossop, Derbyshire.

Ordering Process.

The actual ordering of The Leesa Mattress is very simple, in a few clicks you’ve ordered your new mattress.  Delivery takes around 5-7 working days as each mattress is made to order and shipped to your door for free via UPS.  I ordered mine on the 5th April 2018 and it was despatched via UPS on the 12th April 2018.

Do you want an £80.00 discount from Leesa? Of course, you do, you’ll need to click here and follow the ordering process.

I received no other communication from my order confirmation until my mattress was sent out to me.  This got me worried as it had been 5 working days until I heard what was happening with my order.  I think Leesa need to at least add some automated emails into their processing time.  I would love to hear more about my mattress.  Imaging being told it’s now been made, had the cover zipped on and finally compressed ready for UPS to pick up.

Setting up the Mattress.

I received my mattress on the 13th April 2018.

Moving the mattress requires some muscle power.  You’ll probably need some help to manoeuvre the mattress box into your bedroom.  The box weighs 31KG but also the box size makes it difficult to move by yourself.

Once located, open the top of the box and slide out your mattress, you’ll be amazed how it’s packaged.

Now carefully cut open the plastic packaging and watch in absolute amazement as your mattress grows and expands!  It’s certainly a sight that can only be described as amazing!

I opened mine up at 15:00 and by 16:00 the mattress had expanded to around 95% of the total size.  Leesa say you can start to sleep on your mattress after two hours but it will take a further 24 hours to fully expand.

One thing I did notice was the odour!  There is a strange chemical type smell that lingers for about 6 hours!  The odour is quite strong and overpowering until it has worn off (Or you get used to it, I’m not sure which one)

Sleeping on The Leesa Mattress.

This is where I thought me, and my partner would have a domestic! I like a softer mattress whereas she likes a firmer mattress, so normally either one of us must compromise.  But, The Leesa Mattress suited both of us, without no arguments, so already Leesa has gone up in my estimations!  I think the reason for this is how it’s made, I’m heavier (OK much heavier) than my partner so I sink slightly into the mattress with still getting support and she can lay on the top layer without flying up into the air as I get into bed.

I’m also a night time wriggler, which annoys her so much as I normally keep her awake.  But, with The Leesa Mattress I can wriggle all night long without even disturbing her!  It’s like we got a mattress for both of us all in one.

I have been using The Sleep Cycle sleep monitoring app on my iPhone for the last year and on average I was getting around 60-70% of good quality sleep, but within one week of using The Leesa Mattress I was getting 80-92% of quality sleep.  So, my sleep quality has improved, and I now get over 90% on a daily average.

Sheets.

I found though the normal elasticated fitted under sheet that I would normally use does fit onto the mattress but it’s a tight fit and every now and then will flick up and come away from the corners.

Leesa do sell sheets but you’ll need deep pockets as for a UK standard double they will set you back £165.00 which includes 1 duvet cover, 1 fitted sheet, and 4 standard pillowcases.  But if you buy two sets it will set you back nearly half the price of your mattress.  The Leesa Sheet Set features a 500-thread count, so I guess it would feel great to sleep in.  But, for that money I would want Leesa to come around my house and wash these sheets for the life of the mattress!

The outer cover is made from 100% Polyester and can be removed and put in your washing machine.

Conclusion.

I love The Leesa Mattress, it’s simply brilliant!  I know I will keep my mattress beyond my 100-night trail.  It’s the best mattress that I’ve ever slept on and will never go back to a spring mattress ever again!  I would like to hear more from Leesa after the ordering process as not hearing any communication (Even if it’s automated) is quite worrying.  But, overall, I love The Leesa Mattress and highly recommend you purchase one, you’ve nothing to worry about if it’s not for you, simply return it (Although I promise you’ll not return it after you’ve slept on it)
