The Selfie Ring Light SG-04 is a portable and rechargeable photographic accessory for your mobile phone, tablet, or laptop.

You get three different light settings to achieve the perfect photo.

It’s easy to use clip and go design ensures that this little device can be used on just about any device.

But is this light any good? Does it make a difference? Time to test it out!

Packaging.

The Selfie Ring Light SG-04 comes neatly packaged in a White cardboard box with product images and written specifications printed on the box.  The box measures 10.0cm x 10.0cm x 3.5cm and weighs 76G.

Upon opening the Selfie Ring Light box you’ll find the following items. 1x Light, 1x Micro USB Cable.

Selfie Ring Light SG-04.

The Selfie Ring Light is Black in colour with a translucent ring around the front.  The light measures 8.5cm in diameter and a height (at the highest point) of 2.5cm.  This selfie ring light weighs 46G.

The light features a spring design that allows it to simply clip over your device and get to work straight away.  On the side you’ll see charging LED indicator, the Micro USB port (for charging) and the On/Level selection button.

Using the Selfie Ring Light.

To use you’ll need to ensure that you’ve enough battery power.  To charge this light you’ll need to use the supplied Micro USB cable (Which has a length of 27.0cm) and plug it into any 5V USB power outlet.  You can use a TV, laptop, mobile phone charger, or even a powerbank!

Charging takes around 2 hours to fully charge and you’ll be able to use the light for 2-4 hours of continuous use.

Now to use, simply clip the light over your device and press the power button.  You get three different light levels and can select these by pressing the power button and cycling through to find the right light level for you.  You’ll see the picture change tone and brightness as you cycle through.

But, if you press and hold the button your light turns into a bright strobe!  I’m not sure as to why this happens, or why you’d want this function, but it happens.  Maybe the manufacturer has used a control chip from another item such as a torch!  But be warned, it’s blinding!

The selfie ring light features 36 LED lights that’re positioned equally to form a circular light.  This light will fit almost every smartphone, tablet known on the market.

Conclusion.

The Selfie Ring Light is OK.  It’s probably not my most favourite product in the world but it suits a need if you’re into taking ‘selfies’.  I did find it also improved general photographing too, especially close images where a lack of natural light is present.

I can’t find much fault with this light, apart from the weird strobe lighting effect!  Overall, I recommend this product, especially if you want to enhance your photos and make them look a lot more professional.
