The speaker I have is Pink in colour, but PINGKO also do this speaker in Blue.

On one side there’s three control buttons.  These buttons are Volume Down/Previous Track, Play/Pause/Power, and Volume Up/Next Track.

Setting up and using the Speaker.

Before you use this little speaker for the first time you’ll need to charge it using the supplied Micro USB Charger Cable.  The cable measures 52.0cm in length.  Insert one end into the speaker and the other into any 5V DC USB power source.

Charging takes around 2-3 hours to fully charge and you’ll be able to play this speaker for around 5 hours on this single charge.

Once charged you’ll need to hook this speaker upto your device.  I’m choosing to connect via the Bluetooth connection.  But, you can play music via a wired 3.5mm AUX Cable connection, or even use a TF Card.

To connect via Bluetooth, power on the speaker and search on your device via your Bluetooth menu for “AS888” and connect.  That’s it!

A successful connection will light up your speaker with a warming Red LED glow.

Sound Quality.

The sound quality isn’t the best, and the speaker needs to be positioned in a raised looped position.  If you place the speaker on a flat surface, you’ll get nothing apart from a muffled audio sound.  Once suspended the sound is clear but quiet even when you increase the volume on your device.  I would say it has about the same sound level as playing audio directly using your mobile phone.

The real point of this speaker is the unique way in which you can hang and listen to it.  You can hook this onto a bag zip, loop in around your bicycle handle bar and even hang it on a tree branch!

But the sound for me is a big let-down and quite disappointing overall.

The build quality does need mentioning though.  It’s certainly rugged and even withstood several blows against the wall as I threw it around the house!

The Bluetooth wireless range is advertised as being capable of 10M but in fact I found it worked at 15-20M with no signal lose.

Conclusion.

The PINGKO Bluetooth Speaker is poor in terms of audio volume and quality.  It’s certainly a robust speaker that would be ideal for pre-teen as a first speaker.  But, for me the sound is low quality and low, the connection signal is excellent though.

Overall, it depends on what you wish to have this speaker for.  If it’s for a kid and you’re not too worried about audio quality and looking for something robust then this is perfect.  But if you’re after audio quality you’ll be disappointed with the PINGKO speaker.

It does look quite cool though!
