Oliphant Man Beer Tally

The Oliphant Man Beer Tally is an automated bottle cap recording device that allows the user to see how many bevies have been drunk the night before!

You get a simple and easy to operate bottle opener and tally counter all in one.

It’s a nice, fun and quirky gift item for the beer drinking man (or woman) in your life!

But is this product any good? Is it practical for use? Time to test it out!

Packaging.

The Oliphant Man Beer Tally comes attached via a cable tie around cardboard packaging which has picture illustrations and specifications printed on it.  The packaging measures 26.0cm x 7.5 and weighs 45G.

The Oliphant Man Beer Tally is made from plastic materials and finished in Red.  It has a small LED screen with a font like a calculator.  The opener itself measures 14.0cm in length x 3.5cm in width and weighs 32G.

The tally counter comes supplied with a AG10 Button Cell Battery.  This can be replaced via the back cover.  Simply remove three screws to access the internal area where the battery is located.  It can be quite a tricky task to remove and re-insert another battery though.

To use the Oliphant Man Beer Tally, you need to simply open a bottle, and that’s it! It will start to record each bottle you open up.  After around 15 seconds the display will go blank, this happens to save the battery from draining down, but will keep count of your drinking.  Even if you forget, this tally won’t!

How do you reset the tally back to zero?  There is a small pin sized hole near to the back cover.  Insert a small object into that hole and the counter will return to zero.

The bottle opener does a good job in opening bottle caps though and grips the cap and doesn’t slip when opening, so that’s great!
