Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame

Today I’ll be writing about the Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame. A wooden picture frame in the shape of a traditional cricket bat.

The bat holds three 6×4″ (152x102mm) sized photographs. You can display them on a wall, both horizontally and vertically, or prop the bat in the corner of a room.

Oliphant have a huge product range; this range includes novelty giftware and awesome gadgets. The Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame is part of a product range, perfect for all your cricketing (it’s a proper word, I didn’t make this up) needs.

But is the picture frame any good? Time to test it out!

Packaging and Contents.

The Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame comes packaged in a white coloured retail cardboard box which features product images and specifications printed on it. The box measures 84.0cm x 16.0cm x 3.0cm and weighs 730G.

Inside the box you’ll find the cricket bat picture frame, no assembly required.

Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame.

The Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame is made from wood, the bat measures 82.0cm x 14.0cm x 1.5cm and weighs 454G. You get three photographic cut outs; each area has a plastic window. To place a photograph, simply remove from the back and put the covers back. Pretty standard stuff.

The finish of the cricket bat is a natural wooden state, I would’ve expected some colour finish to the bat. But you’re able to paint/varnish to suit your taste. The handle area is painted in matte black.

You also get some hooks on the back; this allows you to hang the bat on your wall. You’re able to hang both horizontally and vertically.

I was little disappointed with the overall quality of the Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame. Firstly, the wood is pressed plywood, secondly, the black area is poorly painted, and the overall look of the bat looks cheap. It’s a shame as Oliphant usually have brilliant quality products.

Conclusion.

It’s unfortunately a mediocre review for the Oliphant Cricket Bat Picture Frame. I like the concept behind the cricket bat picture frame, but the overall look has left me disappointed. Perhaps I’d be more impressed with some finer details, such as rounded edges to both the side and handle. I’d also prefer some distinctive detail between the handle and the bat.

The cut-out areas are OK and fit standard photographs without any issues. I do like the fact that you can hang the frame in either direction or able to display at ground level.

So much potential for this product, but as it currently stands, I’m not a fan.
