Today I’m going to be reviewing the NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet. I previously reviewed another tablet for NEWYES and commented that you couldn’t erase a small section of text without erasing the whole thing.

Some brands can get a bit narky with such comments but NEWYES took it as a positive. They come back to me with this tablet. It can partially erase a small section of text without deleting the whole thing.

I was impressed that firstly they took my criticism so well and secondly, they had an alternative product to offer me. If only every brand I review for was so helpful!

So I’ll be comparing this tablet to the previous review to see if there’s any improvement.

How do they compare? Is it easy to use? Time to test it out!

Packaging and Contents.

The NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet comes packaged in a White cardboard box with product images and written specifications printed all over it. The box measures 29.5cm x 19.0cm x 1.0cm and weighs 230G.

Upon opening the box you’ll find the following; 1x LCD Tablet, 1x Stylus, 1x English/Chinese User Guide. You’re supposed to get a stylus lanyard, but mine was missing.

NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet.

The NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet is made entirely from plastic, it’s Black in colour (Blue and Pink are also available). The tablet measures 18.4cm x 28.5cm x 0.6cm and weighs a mere 180G.

In comparison to the other tablet I reviewed this one feels a lot lighter and thinner in profile too.

On the font there’re two user control buttons. The first is a delete icon which deletes the whole screen (Unless you lock the screen) and the other is the partial delete icon.

On the back there’s a screen lock switch, this enables your writing to be protected and prevent the screen from being deleted. Alongside this switch there’s a battery compartment, inside there’s a single CR2025 Lithium Button Cell battery. Which in normal usage condition should last around 4-6 months.

Using the Tablet.

As mentioned above the NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet feels incredibly lightweight compared to the other NEWYES tablet I reviewed. It’s a lot slimmer too!

To use you simply use the supplied stylus, this stylus also features a rubber eraser end to it, just like a pencil. This is where you can erase on the screen.

To erase you need to press the erase button, the button will flash with a RED light every 2 seconds. The erase mode will last for 30 seconds and erase marking to a strength of around 600G. If you wish to partially delete some text with less strength, simply press the button twice and the erasing strength is reduced to around 400G.

You can press the partial erase button for a third to time to further reduce the erasing strength, although it’s not recommended as it makes the rest of the text fade.

To manually exit the partial erase mode, press the delete button once. If you press the delete button again it’ll erase the whole text from the screen, unless of course you lock this function using the switch on the back.

As last time the text on the screen is a weird Green colour. It’s also again very hard to see in low light conditions.

Being so thin I was concerned that it might become damaged if dropped. So, I tested this and dropped it 2 times at around 1.5M. It survived!

I then throw it very hard onto the ground at around 2M and it still worked!

Conclusion.

The NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet is a lot better. It’s more user friendly. The partial erase function works well, and the overall feel of the tablet is lightweight, whilst still being durable.

I couldn’t believe I was able to chuck it onto the floor and it survived!

Although a bigger improvement to the NEWYES LCD Writing Tablet, there’s still that issue of the weird Green LCD colour that’s hard to see in low-light conditions. Perhaps NEWYES could produce a tablet that has White text.

This version is also a lot quieter to use, the other tablet used to be quite noisy when writing, but this version has is a lot quieter.

If you want the NEWYES Partially Erase Tablet for yourself, it’s available for purchase only on Amazon and on the NEWYES website. The RRP for this product is £19.99.
