The M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board comes packaged in a plain Brown cardboard box.  The box measures 38.0cm x 26.0cm x 3.5cm and weighs 740G.

When you open your M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board box you will find: 1x LED Board, 1x Micro USB Power Lead.

M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board.

The M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board is made from plastic materials.  It’s Black in colour and measures 35.0cm x 23.0cm x 0.4cm and has a weight of 555G.

There is a Micro USB power input on one side with an on/off power button.  The power button also allows you to select from one of three different light levels.

The supplied Micro USB cable has a length of 2M.

The internal LED lit up area has an area size of 30.0cm x 21.0cm.

Using the M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board.

The actual use of the M.Way LED Tracing Copy Board is simple, all you need is a 5V DC power supply, you can use this from any 5V power plug and use the USB cable supplied or take power from your laptop or tablet.  The M.Way board is not rechargeable and needs a constant power supply.

I found having it set to the maximum brightness for only 10 minutes caused some major design issues, firstly the board gets extremely hot along the top (Where the LED light strip is located).  But further to the heat issues a far more serious occurrence happened.  The outer protective plastic layer started to melt the glue used to hold it down which exposed the internal workings and cabling.

Conclusion.

I like the simplicity with this tracing light board, but there are some serious design flaws.  Although the board is thin which makes it lightweight and portable it has compromised on the heat dissipation from the LED lighting row.  I’d rather a slightly more thicker lighting board which can reject the heat generated from the LED lights over a thinly designed board.  I would also like to see a model from M.Way that can be recharged rather than having to constantly have a power source supply power to the board.

Overall, I can’t recommend this model from M.Way, not until the design has been addressed and safety has improved.
