But is this light any good? How does it work? Time to test it out!

KOOT Water Effect Light.

The KOOT Water Effect Light is Black in colour and is made from plastic.  On the front is where the light comes from, there is also a microphone pick-up and IR sensor.

The bottom features a threaded section for the supplied bracket.

On the back of the light there is a 3-mode switch, this switch switches the light to Music Mode, Auto Mode, or just turns of your light.  You’ll also notice a Mode button, this will effectively change your light to perform several different lighting patterns/colours without having to use the remote control.

You’ll notice some cut-outs too, this is where heat is rejected from light via a internal brushless fan.

There is also a 5V DC input jack for you to plug in the supplied AC power plug and lead.  The power plug is a completely sealed transformer type plug that converts 100-240V Ac into 5V DC.  The lead has a total length of around 90.0cm.

Using the Light.

Firstly, you’ll need to assemble the bracket and stand to the light, this is an easy process and will make your light stand upward and you can move it it in any direction.  The stand also features 3 screw holes too, this allows you to permanently fix the light to a hard surface if you prefer.

But the light can balance quite easily without you needing to screw the stand into anything!

To start using the light you’ll need to plug the power lead into the back of the light.  Now, press the switch to either Music or Auto.  Music will let the light change light pattern/colour with the beat of the music, whilst Auto will automatically cycle through the many different colours available.

Remote Control.

I found the supplied remote control to work brilliantly too, which is where these types of lights normally fail, but the KOOT one worked well and over 5M or more too!

On the remote control you’re able to control the light being turned on/off, auto/music/flash modes, motor control speed and able to select 16 different colour settings too!

You get the required CR2025 button cell battery supplied too!

Another good point with this light is the cooling effect, heat is normally a killer for LED lighting but the KOOT Water Effect Light features a fan which rejects any heat.  Although you can hear this fan when no audio is present it’s not too loud as to hinder your music when this is in progress.

The lighting effect is actually very good and goes a good job to mimic water rippling, I also like the fact that you get 16 different lighting colours too.

The light output has around 4-5M in distance which is more than enough to fill a room in your room.

Conclusion.

I like this light; the lighting effect is great.  Another plus point is the supplied remote control, normally these are useless but this one is very good and has a long range too!  The light feels well-built and internally the wiring is good with good separation from both the live and neutral connections.

Overall, I recommend this light and would suggest you purchase one for an upcoming party.
