Today I’m writing about the eufy RoboVac 30C. This robotic vacuum cleaner is currently the number 1 best seller for robotic vacuums on Amazon (correct as of 08/07/2021). I wasn’t sent this (I wish I were big enough to get on the eufy reviewer programme), It’s a personal purchase that I have turned into a review.
The eufy RoboVac 30C was first launched in the UK in 2018 and eufy have since released newer models, but the 30C remains popular.
I already have a VANiGO A3 robotic cleaner in my household, but recently the battery pack has lost a couple of cells and won’t hold enough charge to power on. I couldn’t locate a replacement battery, so I purchased the eufy 30C as a replacement.
You’re able to control the eufy RoboVac 30C via four methods. You can use the button on the cleaner itself, use the remote control, download the app, or control via your voice assistant for the maximum control experience.
Is the RoboVac 30C an improvement for our household? Time to test it out!
Packaging and Contents.
The eufy RoboVac 30C comes supplied in a strong white cardboard box. This box measures 44.0cm x 34.0cm x 12.0cm. Inside the box you’ll find 1x Vacuum Cleaner, 1x Charging Base, 1x Remote Control (with 2x AAA batteries), 1x AC Power Adapter, 1x Cleaning Tool, 4x Side Brushes, 1x Set of Replacement Filters, 5x Cable Ties, 2x 2M Boundary Strips, 4x Adhesive Tapes, and an English User Guide and Quick Start Guide.
You need to do some small self-assembly, but it’s basic stuff. You need to push in two side brushes (the other two are replacement parts) and then position the charging base against a wall. Its best positioned with a clearance of 1M either side and 2M clearance to the front. The AC plug requires a 230v AC power source, the cable measures 150.0cm. The rated output of the AC plug is 19.0V/0.6A/11.4W.
Charging and Preparation.
Before using the eufy RoboVac 30C you’ll need to firstly give it a charge. Charging takes around 5 hours, and this indicated with a breathing LED light on the vacuum cleaner itself, the orange breathing light will change to a solid blue light to indicate a full charge.
Whilst the eufy RoboVac 30C is on charge it’s a good opportunity to prepare your house for the vacuum cleaner. Tidy up all loose cables, this is where the supplied cable ties come in handy. Also, any fringed designed rugs will need to have these parts folded inward to prevent the vacuum cleaner becoming stuck. The supplied 2M boundary strips are also ideal to instruct the vacuum cleaner from cleaning a particular chosen area.
eufy RoboVac 30C.
The eufy RoboVac 30C is black in colour, measures 32.0cm in diameter and has a height from floor to the top of the unit of 7.5cm and weighs 2.7KG. The RoboVac 30C has a glossy plastic finish. You get a generous 0.6L litre dust container too, and you’ll be surprised just how quickly this fills up, but that’s down to the excellent cleaning power of the RoboVac 30C, but more on that later.
On the top you’ll discover the automatic cleaning function light, which also doubles up as the charging indicator light. The front area features a bump sensor, at the back is where you’ll find the dust container. On the underside (and this is worth remembering) you’ll see the main power on/off switch, along with the roller brush area, wheels, sensors, and the charging contact pins.
Using the eufy RoboVac 30C.
The eufy RoboVac 30C can be used on any household floor surface and can automatically clean to suit the surface its cleaning. The easiest method of activating the RoboVac 30C is via the supplied remote control, or via the button on the top. You need to ensure the main power on/off button is on before any use, this is easy to forget for a first time use and if you were turn it off after a clean. Then you can press the button on the top of the vacuum cleaner to automatically start cleaning.
The supplied remote control gives you some more control over the button. You’re able to send the RoboVac 30C on an automatic clean by simply pressing the middle play/stop button. You can call the 30C back to the charging base too with a press of the plug icon on the remote. You’re not able to instruct the 30C to return to the charging base without either the remote control or the app (more on the app below). No matter what you decide, the RoboVac 30C returns automatically to the base when it needs to be recharged.
You’re able to use the remote-control power adjustments, set cleaning schedules, along with selecting different cleaning modes, including edge, spot and a quick clean function.
App and Voice Control.
The eufy RoboVac 30C can be controlled via the eufy app too. In fact, it’s the best way of enjoying the most of your vacuum cleaner. You need to ensure that you have a 2.4GHz WiFi router and have a smartphone/tablet connect to this WiFi network. Your device needs to have at least the following operating system, Android 4.4 (or above) and iOS 8.0 (or above).
The blue flashing light on the 30C indicates an unpaired status.
To set up the app you need to firstly download it from your usual app location. Once downloaded you’ll need to launch the app and then create a user account. Next press the + icon and search for the RoboVac 30C and add it to your eufy account.
The app is a little awkward to pair with the 30C the set-by-step guide is a little clumsy, but once connected it works incredibly well. With a tap of the screen, you can send the 30C on its way to clean your home.
A solid blue light indicates a successful pairing.
The eufy RoboVac 30C can also be paired to both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You’re able to instruct the RoboVac 30C to start/stop cleaning, go back to the charging base and locate the 30C.
Capabilities.
The eufy RoboVac 30C has a powerful 1500Pa suction capability, along with eufy’s in-built Intelligent BoostIQ Technology which automatically increases suction power within 1.5 seconds when extra vacuuming strength is needed. This is noticeable when the 30C goes from a hard floor to a carpeted area and back to a hard floor area again, such as a rug. You get up to 100 minutes of cleaning too, this run time is dependent on power settings and floor material. It’s also worth noting that the 30C operates at a nice quiet operating noise of just 55dB. So, it’s around the same noise output as a general conversation, of which is recorded at 60dB.
Have allergies? You’ll be pleased to hear the eufy RoboVac 30C comes with a twin filtration system (you also get a spare filter set), these filters are washable too. The twin side brushes sweep dust and debris into the path of the roller brush without kicking up into the air too.
No need to worry about stairs with the 30C either. There’s an impressive drop sensor which prevent your vacuum cleaner form falling down the stairs. Also, the RoboVac 30C comes equipped with 9 anti-collision infrared sensors which works well, without bumping into objects and activating the front bumper sensor. Compared to the VANiGO A3 which would bump into most objects before moving on, the RoboVac stops itself before bumping into objects, unlike a drunkard on the way back from the pub.
My Impressions.
I was certainly impressed, the quietness, the powerful and effective cleaning and the enjoyment of watching the 30C doing its thing. I have a cat, 2 kids, myself and my partner in a house, so hair/dust/debris quickly builds up. So, finding a robotic cleaner that can cope is an essential purchase, especially for a busy household. The 0.6L dust container fills up each time we use the 30C. On one hand its annoying to keep emptying the container, but on the other it means it’s been working. It’s easy enough to empty.
I generally leave the RoboVac 30C on the automatic Intelligent BoostIQ setting, it knows what it’s doing. I have both hard floors and carpeted areas too, and the 30C does a brilliant job on all these surfaces.
My cat isn’t impressed, so no viral video of my cat riding the RoboVac 30C from me. She’s getting used to it now (we’ve been using the 30C for 2 months) and is at least in the same room now as the 30C, but with unimpressive side eyes!
I like design, user friendliness and the capabilities of the RoboVac 30C. It’s certainly made a huge difference to our home.
Maintenance.
Not everything is automatic, at some point you’ll need to provide some maintenance to the eufy RoboVac 30C. If you hate maintenance, then you’ll be pleased to know it’s the extremely basic of tasks. The cleaning/maintenance schedule below is based on daily use, alter to suit your usage.
- Dust Container: Empty after each use.
- Filters: Clean once per week, replace every 2 months, buy genuine filters here.
- Side Brushes: Clean every per week, replace every 6-12 months, buy genuine brushes here.
- Brush Guard: Clean every per month, replace roughly 3-6 months, buy genuine roller brushes here.
- Sensors: Clean every month.
- Charging Pins: Clean every month.
- Swivel Wheel: Clean every month.
The lithium-ion batter is also replaceable too, so if your RoboVac 30C no longer holds a charge, you can buy a genuine eufy battery too.
All the parts easily come apart too, mostly without tools too.

Conclusion.
I absolutely love the eufy RoboVac 30C. It’s made such a difference to our home. It’s incredible to see how much dust and debris is removed each time, including from our carpets. No wonder is the number one product on Amazon for robotic vacuum cleaners, it’s an impressive vacuum cleaner.
The setting up process of the app needs a tweak, but once paired you never have to contend with this again. That’s the only improvement I can think of.
I can’t stress enough just how good the RoboVac 30C is.
