Simply tap the device once for an 8-minute exercise or press twice for a longer 20-minute routine.

But is the Dodow a gimmicky item? Will it work? Time to test it out!

Using the Dodow.

The Dodow is a touch sensitive device, so all you’ll need is the magic power of touch! Simply touch the device once for an 8-minute exercise or twice for a longer 20-minute duration.  The device automatically turns off at the end of either the 8 or 20-minute programme.

A Blue LED appears on your bedroom ceiling and increases in size and then decreases.  You’re supposed to inhale when the light expands and then exhale when the light decreases in mass.  The idea is that Dodow will gradually decrease your breathing rhythm from around 11 to 6 breaths per minute.  This put’s you into a relaxed breathing state and slows down your body’s metabolism.

I found the breathing exercises very hard, I suffer with Asthma, so I wasn’t able to match either the inhalation or exhalation rate of the Dodow, in fact I found it very uncomfortable and as if I was running out of air!  I also sleep on my side, so to get the best from Dodow you’ll need to lay on your back, which for me I find it keeps me awake.

This sleep aid works in around 80% of cases where people struggle to sleep, so I must be in the 20% category as I found it kept me awake more.  I also don’t have the best lung capacity due to my Asthma, so I was unable to do the exercise without feeling completely breathless!

But, Dodow does come with a 100-day money back guarantee, so I guess if like me it doesn’t work for you, you’re able to return this device back and get a full refund.  So, if anything it’s worth a try at least.

Conclusion.

The Dodow didn’t work for me.  Maybe I’m just one of the people in the 20% category, or maybe it’s because I physically couldn’t do the breathing exercises.  But, if you struggle to sleep it’s worth a try at least, especially with the 100-day money back guarantee that you get.  The device itself feels quite modern and sleek and I like the touch sensitive design too.  It’s just a shame that the Dodow didn’t work for me as I’m a big fan of gadgets!
