Blendtec Designer 725

The Blendtec Designer 725 blender is a premium graded blender that has been built to last.

The Blendtec Designer 725 is truly the blender with a brain. Blendtec’s exclusive SmartBlend technology senses and identifies potential problems that could interfere with the perfect blend including loading errors, overheating, or air pockets – and then tells users how to fix them.

Get seamless precision speed control for 100 speeds with the slide of a finger. It even tells you which speed to use for stirring, chopping, mixing, blending, or pureeing. Use Multi-Speed Pulse for an added burst of power at any speed.

Six pre-programmed custom cycles enable one-touch blending perfection: Smoothie, Salsa, Ice Cream, Whole Juice, Hot Soup, and Clean. The Designer 725 even suggests additional uses for each cycle, so you know how to get the most from your blender.

During any blend cycle, easily add 10 seconds with a single tap to the blend cycle icon you are currently using. So, you can achieve just the consistency you’re looking for.

Blendtec Designer 725 Motor.

The main motor base is where all the magic happens, with simple, easy to understand illuminated touchscreen options.  Upon powering on for the first time you’re greeted with a tutorial by Blendtec.  This allows you to get to know your machine a little better as well as feel the touch screen sensitivity.  The machine is stable and won’t move about as there are rubber grips on the bottom of the motor.

Features.

One of the greatest features of the Blendtec Designer 725 is the automatic pre-programmed cycles, but do you want a smoother smoothie? then just press the add 10 button and the machine will blitz for another 10 seconds to get the consistency you prefer.  Still want it smoother? then press it again.

The Designer 725 even suggests additional uses for each cycle, so you know how to get the most from your blender.

Using the Blender.

I found the Blendtec Designer 725 easy to use and understand straight from the box and quickly set about making a Kiwi fruit smoothie.

I simply pressed the smoothie button and the machine got to work and made a lovely smoothie.

I then thought Kiwi fruit could be too easy for the Blendtec Designer 725 as it was a soft fruit, so I then decided to give Apples a go.  This time I wanted to really try the machine out.  I de-cored 3 whole Apples and put them into the blender, pressed the Pulse button and had some fun with the speed slider until the Apple was mulched into tiny pieces.  Water was added to loosen the Apple mixture and then pressed the smoothie option.  I ended up with a smooth Apple smoothie without the need of cutting up fruit.  The Blendtec Designer 725 manged to perform the task I wanted with 3 whole Apples in the machine.  It didn’t stop working once and easily coped with the Apples.

Interface.

Smoothie – This cycle is designed specifically for various types of smoothies and thick drinks that frequently use dense or frozen ingredients. It slows down and speeds up automatically during the cycle. This allows the blender to draw the ingredients into the blending vortex, creating the desired texture. To use the Smoothie cycle, load your jar as indicated in the recipe you are using, secure the lid, and press the Smoothie icon. The blender will run the cycle and automatically shut off.

Dips – This cycle stays at relatively low speeds for shorter periods of time. This combines your dips, allowing the flavours to blend together properly, without over-mixing. To use the Dips cycle, load your jar as indicated in the recipe you are using, secure the lid, and press the Dips icon. The blender will run the cycle and automatically shut off.

Ice Cream – This cycle is designed specifically for frozen treats, including ice cream, sorbets, and frozen yogurt. The cycle speeds up and slows down at the appropriate moments to ensure your blends stay frozen. To use the Ice Cream cycle, load your jar as indicated in the recipe you are using, secure the lid, and press the Ice Cream icon. The blender will run the cycle and automatically shut off. After creating your frozen dessert, serve immediately and store leftovers in the freezer.

Other Fantastic Features.

Whole Juice – This cycle is designed to completely blend tough and dense ingredients, including carrots, celery, and seeds. Use the Whole Juice cycle if you are using any fruits and/or vegetables with stems, seeds, or skins. When blending carrot juice or other dense juices, you may need to repeat this cycle once or twice until the desired texture and consistency are achieved.

Hot Soup – This cycle is designed for hot recipes. The cycle’s length of time, combined with the speed of the motor, heats the ingredients to a hot temperature. This cycle can also be used for hot chocolate, syrups, and fondue. When using fresh ingredients, remember that the speed of the blade generates enough heat to warm the ingredients Do not add any liquids or ingredients over 46° C (115° F) to the jar when preparing soups or hot items.

Cleaning.

Clean

This cycle that automatically cleans the inside of your blender jar.

To use the Clean cycle:

4. Once the cycle is complete, remove the jar and rinse.

For best results, use the Clean cycle immediately after blending.

Pulse – The Pulse function is used for chopping, mincing, whipping, or other momentary tasks that do not require a long blend cycle. You can also Pulse to quickly stir a blend before serving. The Pulse setting runs at speed 7 and will only run while the Pulse icon remains pressed. When the icon is released, the motor shuts off.

Capacitive Touch Slider – The capacitive touch slider allows you to fine-tune the speed of your blender. Simply slide your finger to the right to increase the blender’s speed or the left to decrease speed.

Conclusion.

The Blendtec Designer 725 blender is easy to use and has been built to last.  The blades are super strong and can cope with all manner of ingredients.  I found the touchscreen panel easy to use and understand.  I also like that you can buy replacement parts and accessories from Blendtec directly.

They also have great customer service available, I tried them out with a different email address that Blendtec didn’t have for me to see.  Their live chat messaging service which was offline at the time at 11:18am GMT but still I left an offline message saying, “I have a Designer 725, can I ask if the jar is dishwasher safe?”

Johannes Pigge replied at 12:26pm GMT saying “Thank you for your message.  Yes, all Blendtec Jars are dishwasher safe.  Be aware though, that they do tend to get a bit milky after several runs in the dishwasher”

Being a premium brand, I wanted to make sure that you can contact their customer service team at any point, not just prior to a sale, I found the reply to be quick and informative.

Warranty.

What sets Blendtec apart from the others is the warranty that Blendtec offer, a full 8-year warranty for the Designer 725 is provided from the sale date.  I love how you can buy additional accessories and parts throughout the ownership of the Blendtec Designer 725 too.
