The Olight S1 Mini is a small and compact torch from the bestselling Olight baton series.
This torch maybe small but can produce an output of 600 Lumens, this is all thanks to the powerful Cree XM-L2 LED.
The Olight S1 Mini comes with a rechargeable RCR123A Battery with a Micro USB charging port, it also has a magnetic end that can securely attach to metal surfaces.
You also get 5 different light settings too, you can choose from the lowest setting of Moonlight Mode which can produce 0.5 Lumens of light right upto the most powerful light setting of Turbo which can produce 600 Lumens over a 100M range.
Packaging and Contents.
The Olight S1 Mini comes neatly packaged in a Black cardboard box. There’s picture illustrations and written product specifications also printed on the box. The box measures 11.2cm x 5.0cm x 4.5cm and weighs 100G.
Upon opening the Olight S1 Mini box you’ll find the following items. 1x Torch, 1x Battery (Already Installed), 1x Micro USB Cable, 1x Lanyard, 1x Multi-Lingual User Guide, 1x Quick Start Guide, 1x Olight Promotional Leaflet.
Olight S1 Mini.
The Olight S1 Mini is Black in colour, it’s made from high quality Aluminium Alloy, you also get a textured finish to the outside casing which provides grip and comfort. The torch measures 5.5cm x 2.0cm and weighs 45G.
The first thing you need to do upon opening the box is to unscrew the battery compartment at the end of the torch and remove the insulating film, this will allow the torch to make contact with the battery and start to work.
Battery.
The Olight S1 Mini comes pre-installed with a RCR123A Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery, you will need to charge the battery prior to use, to do this you need to use the supplied Micro USB Cable (Which has a length of 52.0cm) and insert the cable directly into the battery and charge using any 5V USB charger. A Red LED will appear at the top of the battery to indicate charging and will turn Green when fully charged. The total charging time is around 2.5 hours.
Using the Olight S1 Mini.
After a full charge the light S1 Mini torch is ready to go. You have a choice of 5 different light settings, each light setting can affect the charge of the battery. To change the light setting you need to power the torch on and then press and hold the button and it will cycle through Low, Medium, High and Turbo, release the button on the desired light output.
To access the moonlight mode, you need to turn the torch off, press and hold the power button for about 1 second, then press the power button and the torch will be in Moonlight mode, this mode only produces 0.5 Lumens but the battery can last around 15 Days on a single charge. The Turbo setting will drain the battery in under an hour.
You also get a strobe mode, to use this function quickly press the power button 3 times.
The power button also acts as a battery indicator too, when the battery has run down to a 10% charge a Red LED will appear in the centre of the button.
The bottom of the Olight S1 Mini is also magnetised, this is handy if you need to attach the torch to a metal surface whilst working.
The clip is made from Stainless Steel and can be removed from the torch by simply pulling it away from the main torch body.
The Olight S1 Mini is also IPX8 rated which can withstand water for 30 minutes at a depth of around 1M.
